I started getting double typing a long time ago before that one update cured it. Remember updates? I thought it was history.

The double typing is coming back for me. Am I alone?

Will I need to risk buying another PP and suffering some other defect?

Go back to 10.3.2.2813. It has the most aggressive algorithm to combat double typing.

If that doesn't cut it, you'll have to have the keyboard replaced.

Thanks but don't want to wipe the device. Will have to hope doesn't get worse.

    Replace the keyboard. Easy-peasy and double-typing be-gone.

Is there a thread about this? Finding a keyboard and doing the replacement doesn't sound that easy to me.

Lots of replacement keyboards available on eBay; Youtube has instructional videos on how to take the phone apart.

These Blackberry phones are remarkably tinker-friendly and after doing this for the first time, you'll be wondering what do the phone repair shops actually charge for.

I got like this with the old ThinkPads from about 10 years ago. I could completely take them apart. Maybe I will try this!

That is well covered on this website. If you hit a button on your keyboard it registers twice instead of once.

Well ****, my Passport just started doing this a few weeks ago. I thought maybe I was getting lazy or something and couldn't figure out why it was doing this. So it's a well documented, repairable problem then?

I know, I really should (and I'd love to..) upgrade but I don't want to get into the mess of unsupported operating systems again on my phone that's been rock steady.

Unsupported? All OSes are official from BlackBerry. Just because your carrier has been too lazy to provide it to you doesn't mean it's not perfectly fine.

I mispoke, you're right. I just don't want to fear having to reconfigure my intricately setup contacts, calendar functions, ring tones, apps etc.

This recently started happening on my AT&T passport. I contacted them and they're sending me a warranty replacement because it's less than a year old.

Seems mine is hit or miss. The past week, it's been very minimal.

Mine is not so bad that it affects it's functioning. Who knows maybe the next update will give us another double typing tweek. Although doesn't sound like it.
