Hi guys! I just recently bought my BlackBerry Passport two weeks ago. I installed a couple of APK files to it, Facebook and Grabtaxi specifically. Although they are not working properly. Now, I'm trying to look for lower version of those apps to try and install but it always prompt me that I have installed a higher version of the app.

Can you help me with this?

I already did that but when I'm trying to install a lower version of the app it's telling me that I should remove the latest version of the app.

Some android apps will not be completely deleted when the home screen method is used. It's better to go to Settings, Device Monitor, Storage tab. Scroll down to the app, long press on it and select delete from the popout menu.

    ...
KermEd, Superfly_FR, FF22 and 2 others like this.

    FYI:
There is a major flaw with the Android Runtime on 2876.

When you delete and app, it appears deleted to BB10 (Android Installer, Snap, or anything else outside of the Runtime), but it is NOT DELETED.

The file can still be run from the settings app or Google Play Store (if you have any of those installed) even though the icon is gone from the home screen.

If you try to delete the app properly from within the Runtime, it will error out and re-initialise the Runtime, and the app remains.

I used Sachesi to replace the two Android bar files (from 2813), did a hard reset, and all is well.

This was replicated on various Zs, Qs, and Leap.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot. Where can I get the sachesi though? Or if I do a hard reset the issue will be fixed already?

A reset or security wipe won't help.

    Install Sachesi for side-loading:
    1. Download the appropriate version here: Sachesi
    2. Un-archive the exe file (currently a 7zip file)
    3. Put the exe file in a folder on it's own on your computer (it's a stand-alone program)
    4. Plug your device into your PC.
    5. Double click the Sachesi exe file to launch it. Enter your device password, if you use one.
    6. Click on the install tab.
    7. Drag/drop the bar file into the window. You'll see a progress bar on your device and in Sachesi.
    8. When complete, unplug your device. You're done.

*** "Development Mode" is not required when using Sachesi.
*** Unless you know what you're doing, do not mess with the other, advanced options within Sachesi!

You'll find differing opinions on whether or not the G-play store deletes better than from the device monitor. My opinion is that from the device monitor is better I always trust native over non-native.

But, if you have the 10.3.2.2876 installed, neither will be completely effective. You'd need to replace the runtime as already stated.

By knowing your OS, we could probably pinpoint the exact cause of the problem.

Type this word 'myver' and then press spacebar.
You will see a format of this 'PassportSQW100-1/10.3.2.2813' automatically replacing that word.

Download GhostCommander from Snap. It'll allow you to delete the app fully.

    Happy New Year.

As suspected, Android Runtime on OS 2876 doesn't really behave well in removing android apps.
If you kindly search in finding and fixes thread of the said OS, you'll notice recommendations to sideload Android Runtime from OS 2183.

Try the solutions given on the threads and see if that solves your issue.

Yes. Sideload Android runtime from 2813 to your 2876 using methods mentioned above by Elessar.

Deleting apps on BB10 is easily done using device monitor to ensure thorough deletion.

And another thing, Android apps on BB10 doesn't allow users to transfer android apps to sd card. It has been this way since 10.0.

In my case, it does. Unless we're talking about downloaded folders in device > misc > android. These need to be done manually.
Even using playstore to delete android app doesn't delete android apps fully anyway.
