Is it on the iPhone 6
Verizon Z30
I don't believe the Passport has an infrared (IR) port/transmitter.
Funny how it works, back in the PDA days, my Sony Clie had an IR port that could be used to sync and do a few other task (albeit very slowly). Then, everyone decided it was dumb to have IR ports on mobile devices.
And now we're back to "it's on every high end device."

It is not dumb thing actually. It was there in HTC M7&M8 as well as in Sony xperia z1 & Z2.... It is very nice to use it to connect it to TV without need of remote even...

If you've got a 'smart' TV that's connected to your WiFi, you can download WiFi remote from amazon app store.
I just tried it with my z10 and Samsung TV, works like a charm.
Main limitation is the TV can't be turned on from the phone, but TV can be turned off.

it's a gimmick. Smart tvs are the future so no issue with connecting to passport.
