    Is there a better way to use umlauts (ü, ö, ä) on the keyboard?

    I guess someone out there has / had the same problem and maybe fixed it by using a good substitute option.

    If you already found a way to input these letters more comfortable or have any ideas about how to do so I'd be really happy. Because the PPs pkb imho ssems inferior to the vkb on my Z phones....

    Probably the quickest way is to use the dictionary / spelling check to put the umlauts for you. If you're typing in a language that usually don't have them, then first type the word in the slow way and then let the dictionary learn that word. After that, you can just swipe up to get the word with the umlaut. Same for other type of accented letters or characters.

    It does a good job on most occasions, however I feel like there are so many words with umlauts, that the dictionary will never be complete. Plus the swipe on the pkb doesn't come in as handy as it does on the vkb.

    I tried to set up some word replacements, like [space]yu[space] --> %bü%B

    However this method doesn't really seem to fasten anything, since there are many words, starting with an umlaut and I would have to write words with spaces in between.

    w yu rde --> würde

    in Oy sterreich --> inÖsterreich

    Yes, I am looking for something faster, that doesn't involve the use of the touchscreen.

    It does work OK most of the times. The German language however has so many words that are simply "glued together" (e.q. Überwältigungs_verbot) that the dictionary doesn't always do the job. And there are some tricky words that differ just for the umlaut. E.q. "würde" "wurde"
