If anyone followed my other thread, you know that I upgraded my mom to a Passport for Mothers Day. One of the main selling points for her was the screen size. Since she has the font up, she can now see a lot more of her messages and loves the screen.

She asked me today if there was a way to make the font size larger on the icons or somehow make the icons larger. I told her I didn't think so, but that I'd ask everyone here and see if I might be wrong.

Any help would be great, even if it is just saying that it can't be done. Thanks!

Nothing I know of other than maybe Magnify in Accessibility settings allows you to zoom in on any screen.

Sorry to be the harbinger of bad news, but no, there is no way to make those icons or their font size larger except to use the magnifier under settings/accessibility/magnify mode/on setting. This will make the desktop icons larger but you will have to pinch all the time and it is not very handy for your (mother's) purpose. You could check it out though.

Thank you both for the help. I would have never thought of that. Guess we'll see how practical it will be for her. Thanks again!

She'll eventually remember what each of them does. But for everything else in the OS (as I'm sure you're aware, but I'll note anyway), you can increase the font size in Display Settings.

Sorry about the icon sizes. BlackBerry should implement this like Apple has. BB10 is still young.

Well you can only do this with Folders--you cannot cannot capitalize the individual, pre-installed app icons-----can you?

She can assign shortcut key to launch specific applications e.g. she can assign 'M' letter to launch 'Music'.

Thanks for the additional help. She does have the font size higher than stock which works great with the large screen. This is really only an issue when she is out on the go without reading glasses. I actually have all of my apps in alphabetical order lol.

As for Caps, I can definitely try that when she gets home. I actually totally forgot about shortcuts as well. She was looking for the pictures icon. I'm sure once she gets the hang of everything and the icons she'll be fine, but I'll def remind her about assigning shortcuts. Thanks again!
