I am currently using a Q10 and will very soon get a passport. My father has one and the BIG keys it's got scare me. Will it be hard to adapt to the passport keyboard and also size in general?

Yes, it will take some time but when you get used to the Passport you will most probably not be satisfied with any other device on the market.

If your using the Q10 you'll be fine with the Passport. They'll be a little learning curve. But nothing to worry about.

Q10 to Passport too. Love the speed, battery, the pkb. For my line of work, the size is the big deciding factor so I went back to the Q!

I suggest that you keep the Q10 as back up and a just in case phone.

You'll like it. You'll wonder how you ever used a small keyboard like the Q10.

I'm considering this move as well, but I am uncertain how the future of OS10 will look like. As we all would like to see, I would welcome a clear statement on this platform. As soon as OS 10.3 is announced I will rush to the store and by a PP SE with no further doubts...

The wait is over! 10.3 is here! Actually, the Passport came with it pre-loaded. I assume you meant 10.4. Honestly, the device is great as is. Even if it never received another update, you could easily use it for years to come.

Me moved from the Q10 to a Passport too and could adopt to pkb only hardly, but after understanding that typing not with nails but just the thumbs it got so much faster and more fun...

Same here, from a Q10 and Z10 to a PP SE. The transition is not that hard. It's a great move!

I agree, having moved a few weeks ago from a Q10 to an SE.
The old Q was creaking with so much of its memory full (including all Europe maps with Mireo Don't Panic sat nav) and it was slow.
The SE is rocket quick in comparison but I am struggling to get up to decent speed on keyboard. The Q10 keyboard just feels crisper (and is so much better lit!), but I cannot go back.
I have some coats whose pockets are not big enough for the Passport, so I just have to wear others!
The only real downside for me so far is the camera which won't focus accurately and whose low light quality is very poor. But as a working tool it is peerless!

From a Q10 to Passport too. The learning curve is only a couple of hours. Once you learn, you won't go back.

From Bold 9700 (2010 to 2013) and Q10 (2013 to 2015) and since December 31 2015 with Passport. It will take more time to learn how to type very fast like the others!

Seriously considering the same move, though I think the Q10 is a perfect device, at least for me. I am just amazed and frustrated at how BB keep a loyal (and potentially new) customer base in limbo, by perpetuating the ambiguity on the future of BB10.

My muscle memory and auto fingers need 'calibrating' to the PP after the q10!!! I keep hitting the wrong keys due to size difference. The virtual 4th row is currently weird (I'm on day 3) but will get the hang of it.

    I was a 2 handed q user so that doesn't feel weird.

The PP is so much quicker and snappier than the q that It feels like I can't keep up (so used to the q speed)

touch sensitive keyboard is just witchcraft

    Screen is a dream.

I can already image it would be awful downsizing

I moved from a Q10 to a Passport. Typing is a dream! The only quirk is not having an shift key for capital letters but you will soon stop looking for it! It is possible to type one handed. Just requires the right fingers. Although right handed, I find it easier to type one handed with the left. Come and join the elite Passport Holders.

I moved from a Q10 to the Passport the last week of December and it definitely takes some adjusting as the keyboard is arranged differently and the size of the device is weird after using the Q10 for nearly a year.

One of the most difficult things has been the 4th row virtual keyboard and no alt/shift keys. I really liked just hitting shift/alt on the Q10, though I'm either just long pressing to capitalize or swiping down for characters keyboard on Passport. It's getting more and more natural, but definitely something weird at first.

The touch keyboard is amazing and I've picked up my Q10 a few times and keep going to use the touch keyboard forgetting it's not a feature on Q10.

Yes the size of the phone takes some getting used to, but the battery life, and BB10 OS is totally worth it. Stick with it for a week or so to adjust if you're uncertain if you want to keep it.

It's great! One thing i need to work on is using the keyboard to scroll instead of the screen. Long time Q10 user so my Fingers always default to the screen. I wish I would have went directly to att or SE though. I desperately need the extra room under the keyboard to use it properly!

I moved from a q10 too. Screen size, battery, touch keyboard and camera are the major differences you will notice, not the only ones.
    Good move for any q10er

I think you'd adapt within a few days.
Can't say I "moved" because I just went from using a Bold and Q10 combo to now using Q10 and Passport combo this month. More like I "added" the Passport to the Q10 lol.

Adjusting to the Passport and the touch keyboard has been quick. Touch enabled KB is awesome.
I don't miss a beat jumping back and forth and typing constantly between the 2 devices throughout the day.

I switched to Passport from Q10 also. No regrets. I come back from time to time to Q10 for fun. But I come back to OS7 also for fun. Passport is the main phone now.
Now I'm planning to buy another Passport as reserve.
