First I thought it was my anti spy screen protector which is in the way. BBVE always showed 'near' indicator. I removed that (expensive ;- screen protector.

No success.. but then I disassembled my Passport and have seen that the glass in front of the proximity sensor was very dusty and dirty. I cleaned all that and reassembled it again. And it works again like a charm. Had only to clean it and to tighten up all screws.

Here is a video tutorial how it works (not mine though):

    Good luck!

Um, what was the problem in the first place? I have never experienced any proximity sensor issues.

The problem was, that when I get called, the sensor thought it was covered and then rejected the call. Also the functions like flip to wake and put screen face down to sleep didn't work anymore, because the sensor always seems to been covered. That was the dust inside of the passport
