I've noticed that for awhile now, my Passport's screen tends to remain on during phone calls, so that my face may accidentally dial numbers or mute the call. The workaround for this would be to just use the lock key to shut off the screen.

BlackBerry Virtual Expert, when testing the proximity sensor, seems to say Near is always a pass, and Far is a fail. However, when I repeat this test in very bright lighting conditions, the proximity sensor passes both tests.

Is anyone else having this same issue? Is this a software bug? If it's a hardware thing, I don't have the proximity sensor window covered by anything; the screen protector is not directly on it but around it. Maybe screen protector application solution (by Ghost Armor) got into the sensor and made it less sensitive, hence why it only works in very bright light? Help!

I think it was a problem in that OS, you might want to think about loading a leak. 2813

I hope you're right, and if this is the case then hopefully the next update will fix this. Can anyone say if the 2813 leak fixes the proximity sensor issue?

I'm having this same problem on my Z30. I was on 2339 so I did an OS reload with link. Still wasn't dimming on calls. Got 2876 ota and was really hoping it would be fixed, but no dice. I'm using PocketSafe right now to help keep me from hitting buttons with my face while I'm on a call. I really wish I could get this fixed. It can't be the sensor because its passes BBVE near and far tests, and PocketSafe uses the sensor just fine.

I'm on 10.3.2.2474 with a Passport, had the same issue. Deleted WhatsApp, did a hard reset and now it works perfectly. No more face dialing, and the flip face down to put to sleep works again.

If you have any kind of a screen guard on the screen then remove it and check as I had a similar problem while the tempered glass was covering my phone's screen..as soon as I pulled it out Proximity sensor started working...

Was your tempered glass covering the proximity sensor window at all? Yes I do have a screen protector, but it does not cover the proximity sensor window.

I had to return two Passports because of this issue. For me, it was definitely a hardware issue - I tried reloading stock OS and then loading a leaked OS, and nothing fixed it.

Which leaked OS did you try installing?

Sorry - I don't quite remember. This all happened when I originally bought the phone about a year ago.
