Hello everybody and greetings from Germany!

I hope somebody can help me with a problem I think most of you would shake heads about. I switched from Android (4.0.4) to the Passport because of its physical Keyboard. Since Whatsapp has anounced to discontinue its support for BB 10 next year, I installed the android version of Whatsapp. After few tries I also got my backups transferred and Whatsapp is running as wanted. My Problem now is that it's not sending pictures (or voicemessages or any attachments / non texts).

I already checked app permissions, installed the Android runtime fix from BB world and tried different apk versions. The problem seems not to be the access to pictures but something about networks. Whatsapp can access files, load them to the conversation but then is stuck when sending them (asks to try again after a moment). It also doesn't matter if I'm on wifi or mobile network.

Did anybody else stumble about this problem and knows a way to solve it?

Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated.

You must use the older version 2.015 if I'm not mistaken ,the recent version won't work due to encryption

    Thanks for the promptly answer.
Do you refer to the version of Whatsapp? I can't find any version 2.015 (or do you mean the year). And why does the encryption problem only affect pictures but not plain text messages (including emoticons)?

Version 2.12.510 works, thanks so far!
I hope migration back to Android will work flawless one day if necessary.

Usman quoted the reason of the problems with the non-text stuff in another thread:

Here's from the whatsapp Dev post

When an Android app saves a file to the public shared filesystem on BlackBerry 10's Android Runtime, the file is created with the application's user ID.

When you send media in WhatsApp for Android, the application checks to ensure that you're *not* sending a file with the app's user ID, for security purposes. Thus, this check always fails on the Android Runtime. (even if the file originated from outside the app, the app first creates a copy of it, so the check on that copy will still fail.)

In other words, you'll continue to have this problem unless the BlackBerry 10 Android Runtime's behavior is fixed/changed.

    Hello everybody,

new problem: Version 2.12.510 stoped working. Whatsapp tells to be outdated and asks to be updated.

Anybody any idea to overcome this issue?

We have the same problem, the only one reason for us - wait until it fixed by WhatsApp.

Maybe this "Export for Android" button would help. (In WhatsApp for Blackberry)
