As of September 24th 2014 early AM, the Blackberry Passport has been on pre-order Status in Dubai, such as this main site, axiomtelecom dot com

I called the Blackberry store in Dubai Mall, they confirmed to me that the device is on pre-order status and will be available to be picked up on Friday(September 26th 2014).

Unfortunately the price is no where near the $599usd John Chen announced, the sale price in dubai is ~$733usd, keep in mind that we don't have sale taxes in dubai and import tax is set very low at %5, so its pure greed from the local distributor, what will John Chen say about this? "I didn't see it coming", its echoing the same issue we had with the Z3 where it was sold for a low price in indonesia and jacked up the price in the rest of the world.

I had asked someone in Dubai to get it for me (as I live in Pakistan and it wont' be available here for quite sometime) and told them about the price ($599), to my surprise, when he said it would cost around AED 2699 (US$734) I was shocked. So I dropped my idea to get it from Dubai, hope crackberry would guide me as to where I can get somewhere near Pakistan at similar price that Chen announced.
