I've had no keyboard problems of any sort in the entire time I've used my Passport. I got mine two days after launch. I had the Q10.

If there was so much as a whisper of such a problem with the Passport you can be sure that one of the trolls who love to "stir the pot" would have posted a huge thread by now. Of course now that we've given them the idea I wouldn't be surprised to see such a troll thread in the next little while.

I was not trolling. Just asking to be on the safe side.

The only issue I've had with the passport keyboard is that it's a bit finicky in the cold.

It sometimes goes a bit crazy, but it's not a huge deal.

I have not such a problem as I live down there in Africa. Maybe the opposite one when it's too hot :-)

Thank you for all your answers. I feel much more comfy now to buy one. Next step will be to feel it in my hands. Cheers

Double typing on the Q10 was for the first release of the keyboard due to QC issues. Revision 1 of the keyboard fixed the issues.

I had a double typing Q10, so I've been very carefully monitoring my typing on the Passport. No issues whatsoever, regardless of typing speed. I think they fixed it with software rather than the keyboard itself - today I lingered on a key press, but didn't even get a capital letter, nor double typing.

I hope the next OS update solves it for the Q10's as well, or my husband will be really ticked off - he got mine!

It was not an OS error. It was physical. I have replaced the keyboards and with the same OS, it all went away.

Yes, it's a physical flaw, but it can be corrected with software. You would need to make the keyboard input insensitive to two presses of the same key less than, say, 50 milliseconds apart. I still don't know why BlackBerry hasn't done it for the Q10's.

Just replace the keyboard. No need to modify software that may or may not solve the problem. Unless you have actually tested this and made it work 100% of the time.
