Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem, or if BlackBerry chose not to have that option on the passport? It isn't a problem with my ear buds as they still work fine in my Z30. The play /pause button is working fine. I really like the skip track and volume control options on the cord. Any help or suggestions? Thanks.

The device volume keys work fine for both music shortcuts & volume. Just the in-line volume keys on the head phones don't work.

Not sure what to say, I have the premium multimedia headphones (below) and volume and skip track work fine on the SE. Maybe there is some dust in the 3.5mm jack?

You need passive controls, not active ones like those found on an iPhone. In other words, don't buy any iPhone compatible earbuds and you should be fine.

ALL headphones work for sound but the volume up/down do not with the Passport. Ive tried numerous kinds like android and windows versions however they work on the classic. It's really strange as bluetooth headsets have full up down controls.

I read somewhere its the specific codex powering the 3mm jack with the mother board of passports thats causing the up down controls not to work on a wired headset plugged into the Passport.

The Blackberry premiums will work just dont bother with iem's slated iphone compatible. Most headsets will work but only the call pickup key will work(center key). Ironically iphone iem's will work with the Classic.
