Hey guys, I bought the Passport at launch and I don't plan on buying a new phone for a long time. However, considering that most Li-ion batteries are rated for about 500 cycles, I can see that my battery is going to start failing before I plan to switch. Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the battery of the passport(maybe at a blackberry store)?

Firstly, I've had cell phone batteries last 4-5 years and still give decent performance.
In order to replace a battery in a device like Passport, it will require dismantling of the phone components. It can be done with the right tools and the right skill, but not something the average user will want or should try.

There have been threads here linking to passport tear downs and reassembled that show the process. Look for one about gold-plating the metal edge.

    This Passport takes me places!

Yes, I understand that it's a sealed battery and I wouldn't even try messing about with the battery on my own. Let me rephrase my question, does blackberry offer a service to replace sealed batteries?
