I just noticed that windows 10 adds miracast to my laptop, I can't figure out how to get it to link to passport, not sure it is possible either...

Aside from teamviewer, is there an easier way to just share my screens? Laptop to passport, or passport to laptop

I don't think so. I think both devices transmit miracast, neither are capable of receiving. You could use a rdp app to see your laptop screen on the passport but the home version of Windows 10 won't do it, you need the pro I think.

Thanks for response, not familiar with miracast, as in I didn't know there were receiver and transmitter parts... I assumed it got everything through WiFi so as long as WiFi worked, it was a two way street

The 2nd screen apps work from playstore to turn my phone into another monitor, but I wanted to go other way. Play videos on laptop. The network share of SD card will have to be it I suppose, nice feature that bb included.
