Quick check to see how many with the annoying and seemingly random double typing issue have returned their units for a replacement.

Also how many of those who did exchange their device received a replacement that did or eventually did exhibit this issue again?

I am curious as many here have said to exchange the device. I'm on the fence as the issue seems to strike everyone different with different keys being affected.

Not sure if it's OS or physical keyboard.

I'm in the UK. Had my passport since launch. Dropped it once about 4 weeks ago from 2 feet while it was in the hard shell. Landed face down with no visible damage. Noticed the double typing the next day.

Put up with it for a few weeks and tried all OS versions available. Eventually contacted BlackBerry who asked me to submit logs. 2 days later they told me to go back to point of sale for a replacement/repair. Took the device and email to point of sale and they exchanged for a brand new handset with a build date of 17/12/2014.

So far after 3 days heavy use I have not experienced double typing at all. So in my case it was hardware and I'm convinced it'll be the same cause for anyone else suffering double typing that has dropped the device.

I should add that the keyboard seems slightly different and better quality but it could be the just new placebo effect.
