I got to play with one yesterday, the screen is brilliant, keyboard awesome. And the rubberised back feels great.
I give it two thumb up.

I saw the specs listed video recording at 1080p @ 60fps, did you see a selection for 720p @ 120fps when playing with the phone?

Its faster than any device ive ever used. The one I played with had 10.3.0.1052 out of the box. Keyboard is nice to use but it'll be hard to use without looking at the actual keyboard. It has great audio and the screen feels amazing. From what I saw, the battery is not removable. The camera is actually amazing!! But low light pictures are still not as good as iPhone for example

no, but the 13mp camera on the passport is far superior to the 8mp camera on the ip5s. It's just pictures are slightly less quality in the dark (on passport camera)

Have you had a chance to test its signal reception (capacity of establishing a call in low signal areas)?.

Slightly better than my Z10. But I live in the city so it's hard to tell and I'm not leaving for my cottage for a while

    Yes. Some models.

Don't believe people who "claim" to know without having some form of evidence suggesting they have / used one. Anyone can say "Yeah I've used it"

Thank you thank you. I almost started tearing when I read the spec list and didn't see it.

Any chance you can say which versions will and will not? Will it be like the z30, just VZ or CDMA models?

Personally having "wireless" charging on a smartphone isn't really an incentive for me to buy something. This whole wireless charging thing to me seems unnecessary

    Picture these 2 scenarios

Standard Charger: "oh my passport needs charging, walks over to wall socket plugs phones in

"Wireless charger": "oh my passport needs charging, walks over to charging port and puts phone on pad"

I don't see how plugging the phone in is such a massive hassle and time consuming and how placing the phone on a pad is sooo much easier and quicker? You still have to plug in the "wireless charger"

Just my opinion don't flame me lol

It's not about the camera since all flagships these days have good sensors. It's about the software driving it. Somehow I don't think Apple is going to hand their source code over to Blackberry, but I'm just going on a hunch.

At this point I favor a lower resolution with bigger pixels and better image processing algorithms than a higher resolution. 8MP is fine, 10.6 or so if you want a 16:9 sensor. I'm not really ga-ga over most of the newer 13-20MP cameras because they cut too many corners to get those extra pixels in the sensor without increasing the sensor size enough to keep the quality in line with what a smaller resolution sensor with bigger pixels and the same software backing it would deliver.

If a smartphone manufacturer cannot produce a device that takes good pictures in decent light then they need to exit the business at this point. Smartphone camera sensors are very good now and it doesn't take much work to do at least that. You have to really mess up the software side to fail there. Low light is meh. Only a very very few phones are great in low light, and the iPhone is not one of them. There are probably over 10k smartphone models out in the world being and the number that take great low light images can be counted on one hand, maybe 6-7 fingers at most if we rule out obvious variants of the same device.

wireless charging is not mandatory but it's kind of usefull. You don't have to search for the connector and cable when you go sleeping. That's just easier to charge it. No more, no less.
