Anyone else have extreme slowness on the PlayBook when using bridge on the Passport? For me not only web surfing is slow, but the Playbook OS becomes very sluggish.

That is just the PlayBook being a PlayBook. Thing is a dinosaur in the tablet world. The browser in particular is garbage compared to a more modern tablet such as a Nexus 7. Night and day difference.

Do you have both devices and used bridge between them?

I have and yes it slow, as the other guy said the PlayBook is now ancient tech. Still use mine to browse the net but bridged with the passport, it's not really worth the hassle.

But the Playbook doesn't get slow with the Z30. I don't think it's the PlayBook

Sounds weird, but maybe it's Blend interfering. I think it works off the same basis. I don't have a Passport or PlayBook to check, but could you try disabling Blend and see if that makes a difference?

Are you browsing the net with wifi or you are using the carriers data while 'bridged'

I have no issues with my playbooks (32 and 64gb) bridged to my passport. Everything is good. I would suggest deleting bridge and reinstalling though

    How do you bridge?
    Bluetooth/WiFi with Hotspot/Bridge-App?

    Fastes way is WiFi!
    Bluetooth is okay, too.
Bridge? I don't use it since I got the hotspot after 7.1

Hot spot does hammer the battery though. I know what you're saying, but I sometimes prefer bridge for light browsing.

Forget the PlayBook... use BlackBerry Blend with a windows tablet, or iOS or android.

I don't find this is true at all for mine. In fact, bridge seems faster with the Passport than the Q10

Thanks. I'll give this a try.

For the record, I don't have Blend. And I was using the Passport's data. I would not use Bridge at all if there was wifi available.

Also: "forget the Playbook"? This is just silly. It still works, serves a purpose. I don't need a new tablet, as I don't use it heavily. The group-hate about the Playbook is so weird on this forum.

You have blend it's included with the Passport and it doesn't use any extra data.

The OP uses the phone as an internet source, when he's out, too... Does blend provide internet to win/iOS/Android-tablet(s) on the go? That would be very interesting!

Did I ever mention I have one ;-) It's a 16GB Wi-Fi-only device... but serves! I have a HUB there, too, surf the WEB and watch videos. I do every thing others do on a tablet with it.
I don't know why so much negative sayings... I bet it's the specifications. Okay, the OS could be upgraded and the App support better... but hey... "Apps" or "Games"??? ... LOL
Sorry... parentheses closed... The OP wants a fast internet bridging and I won't chew this old debate again...
    Peace!

Huh no but you can do just that with other tablets. Tethering. Blend is basically a cross platform BlackBerry bridge but better.
