I have heard a lot of complaints about this camera. I have no idea why. People that complain a camera takes more time then an eye blinking to focus are overestimating the value of their time!

Focus on this pp sucks. If you can get it to focus, you will be set.

It is amazing that some of you here refuse to accept the fact the PP is a great phone with a crappy $5.00 camera.
Some despite all the evidence continue to post photos of non moving objects and say things like great camera and such when the reality is even my $69.00 Nokia Lumina 530 can take a decent photo under perfect conditions of NON MOVING objects. The photos I posted a few posts back show the PP's camera's photo a blurry mess compared to the other 3 phones I used and the balloons in that photo were barely moving. I understand some of you may have to go to great lengths to justify your purchase of a $700 phone but please be realistic about the crappy camera on it. I, personally haven't drank as much of the Blackberry Koolaid and find no reason to defend the poor performance of said camera.

If you care to read you will find the people complaining are saying it takes many blinks of an eye to focus and then the slightest movement of the object the focus is gone and yet the camera takes the photo anyway therefore creating a blurred photo and I can say with certainty that's what happens with mine too.

@buwee, do you think one thread for complains how bad Passport camera is enough? Can we keep THIS thread free from complains and just enjoy great pictures?

Why? Isn't this thread for posting photos? but the problem is most of you are only posting photos of things that don't move which is misleading to anyone that is interested in buying this phone because of the camera , as I've said numerous times it takes great photos of things that don't move, but even my Nokia Lumia 520 takes a better photo than the PP's camera when there is any movement at all and unfortunately life is doesn't sit still all day long. But hey, if you guys are good with that...good on you and I've got some waterfront property in Arizona I can sell you for cheap. LOL

This one is going to hurt - just for fun I took the same photo of the balloons with my $69.00 Lumia 520 and even it blows away the PP's camera but carry on and keep believing you've got a great camera. ROFL

But even if this is ture, it doesn't really matter or apply to me as I work in a morgue and my subjects are pretty much motionless.

    No blurry photos for me.

It takes good enough images but yes the autofocus needs improvements. Just FYI, my G3 can shoot faster and takes better images than the Passport. Still like the Passport better overall, though.

Crop of an image done with my Passport today. To get this fast falling drop ISO was forced to 200 on a really bright day and shutter speed jumped to 1/5000 sec.

Yes, posting photos, which is what all of us here are doing, except for you. Nobody is saying that the autofocus is great. We're posting good photos we have gotten, regardless of the situation. That is, afterall, the title of the forum.

Go take your snide comments to iMore with all the other self-entitling pricks.
