A question to guy who have due to work requirements encrypted their phone and memory card.

I just encrypted my phone and card and am now unable to use the picture password feature.

I'm able to set it up but it won't stick. Once I close down the setup screen and reopen, the picture password option is off again.

Are we not able to use picture password when the phone is encrypted? Could this be something that is pushed by my work? I used microsoft exchange to log into my work email account and it immediately asked and encrypted the entire phone.

    BES policy maybe?

Exchange I don't think allows for the Picture cause it has no means of resetting the PW if needed.

My picture password stopped working when my Passport was setup on exchange and with Airwatch. Worked fine before I used it for BYOD.

Picture password not staying 'on' in settings is a bug since 10.2.
It should still work even when showing as being turned off.
Next time set it up and lock the phone. Upon unlocking the picture password should come up even when later it will show up as 'off' again. Just don't worry about it.

They both work fine for me (picture password on encrypted phone) but I am not on a BES network, nor is my passport a company provided and controlled phone.

Its my phone. I just wanted the convenience of having my work messages pushed right to my handset versus having to use the browser and webmail.

As mentioned above, the option will show off but picture password still works. To test it, one has to go into security and privacy settings to reduce the device password > lock screen timeout which is set to 30 minutes by default.

I rebooted the phone and the option to even turn it on is now gone!!!!

The Damn IT policy I think wiped it off.
