I've actually migrated back to my Q5 out of frustration with 10.3's performance on my Passport.

Honestly, my Q5 on 10.2.1 is running much more smoothly than my Passport. It feels snappier, despite having much weaker specs. Startup time takes forever, but that's my only issue so far (and that I miss the wide Passport keyboard).

    Just my experience.

    Can't say the same.

My Passport is flawless and super quick.

Can't wait for the official 10.3.1 to see the new goodies!!

    same here...

The z30s animations seems more fluid.
Put your old BB 10 device and the PP side by side and try yourself
I thinks it is only the animation(speed) which have changed with 10.3.X

Nothing is at work here from my side...

The animations(minimize apps for example looks a bit different) on 10.2.x looks a bit more smoother than on 10.3.x... i think that will be better in newer versions...

I haven't noticed any performance issues on mine, and I've had it for over a month. It is certainly faster than my Q10.

I can definitely say you that my Passport is at least 3x faster than my Q10 at boot for exemple, and everything else seems very smooth there too.
You may get some OS problem, as suggested earlier try back-up and reload a new OS.

My Passport is much faster than my Z30 running 10.2.1 and Z30 is much better than my Z10 was two years ago. No issues since early October when I got my Passport.

I just have a Passport running the latest OS from BlackBerry. No Android apps installed. The phone starts out fine after a reinstalled OS, but quickly becomes a hog and runs into slowdowns, animation issues, and sever Internet lag when inputting text into a text box.

My Q5 offers a more fluid experience that feels polished and working correctly.

To be honest, I feel the latest update for the Passport, as pushed by BlackBerry, has really caused much of the problems I've been having. The launch OS for the Passport felt better.

And it's not that the Q5 is faster or more fluid always, it's just that it's performance is far more consistent. I never feel it lag. Maybe the Passport is generally faster, but the experience is not consistent--I experience the issues I've noted on a regular basis. And I'm not running any weird apps or anything. Mostly stock.

I love my q5. I used it again for a week or so.. but back to passport. Wish I could put a q5 keyboard on the passport.

I was simply using whatever the most recent update that blackberry has released through link or ota. I don't have my passport in front of me to check. But it's the latest official os.

My point is that there was no official update for the Passport, unless you're on AT&T and got the accidental early build of 10.3.1 - which would explain a lot.

    I obviously don't have 10.3.1.

And there is an official update for the Passport that is pushed as soon as you set up the phone.

How is that obvious? You never stated what you were using.

AT&T accidentally pushed out 10.3.1.1016 to its Passport users briefly. If you were one of those, it would certainly explain why you are having issues with performance. That's why I asked you about updates.

As this appears, based on your response, to not be the case, then I don't know what is going on with your device.

I stated 10.3 in my original post. But I appreciate that 10.3.1 could have been the issue, my apologies.

I'm using whatever the latest version of 10.3 is that was pushed by BlackBerry through link/ota. Just not the accidental 10.3.1.

Have you checked what is using the CPU? Go to device monitor->CPU and ensure that the top drop down is set to current. Check out what is being used. That may lead you to an errant process, or incorrectly set up service. Post a screenshot and maybe we can help
