How's the sound quality? My Passport doesn't produce any bass or lows when it's plugged in AUX. However using headphones or connecting it via bluetooth the sound is perfect! Help!!

Interesting. I thought it was my wife's KIA, so I didn't pay attention to it more. Long story short, when plugged in KIA's aux input, sound quality and volume are terrible.

Try a different cord to see if that's the problem.

Not yet, but I will test my Lumia on KIA and my passport to some other aux input. My own car doesn't have aux input..

Restart your phone. This has happened to me for some reason and a reboot always fixed it

so weird right??? I'm guessing its software related since with headphones the quality is perfect. I'm writing to Blackberry via twitter. Lets see what they say... So disappointed!!

I would guess that would be the car problem, because the phone shouldn't see the difference between some regular headphones or conected to anything else through the jack. The signal should be the same regardless of what you connect

iPhone definitely has a much better internal DAC and also better amplification. Then again, the iPhone is also marketed as a player, a BlackBerry isn't. Not an excuse, just pointing out the obvious.

it used to be in the BBOS days. Today's high end phones like iphone, samsung, Blackberry passport, both have a high end DAC. Can't tell much difference between my passport and a iphone 6 or galaxy s6.

Software also plays a role in that, the player can make a lot of difference

It's been a debate before referring to the Passport sound quality when listening to audio through the headphone jack. It doesn't nearly have the quality of other BlackBerry devices. I can't vouch personally for the Leap but I do know the Z10, Z30, Q10 and Classic give a louder and better quality sound oppose to the Passport. Not sure if it's a software or hardware situation but the Passport definitely had an issue there specifically. The speakers however, are nothing short of any device available on the market.
