A step backwards... The Passport is simply amazing with BB10.

My experience has been the opposite. Got an Android phone because apps, but the OS is so busy and disjointed it takes too long to get anything done. Keep gravitating back to my Passport. It's like an old Cadillac: maybe the body style is a bit dated and it doesn't have all the whiz-bang features of newer cars, but it's still a Cadillac. Still has that silky, smooth ride, tons of power and still looks good on the road.

I thought I would miss my Passport after moving to the Priv, but not at all. only thing I wish for is a bigger keyboard like the Passport. Beyond that, once I got everything customized I have no complaints.

Fair enough..but I'm too invested in the Google ecosystem to make the Passport work form ore than a few weeks. Then the charm wears off and I simple can't do what I want to do...

June 2014, Chen publicly teased two of the company's upcoming models, the BlackBerry Passport—a smartphone with a square display, along with a successor to the Q10 known as the BlackBerry Classic.

So going on 4 years...either way for tech 1.5 yrs old is extinct.

Passport 2014 tech hardware was decided and being shown + tested for close groups. So we just hit 3 yr mark and going on 4 years
    Ancient device by today's standards.
    Not math...but logic!

No matter how many times you say it, you just cannot make it true. The device will not be 3 years old until October of 2017. Period.

How did you optimized the battery life? I feel like I could never get good battery life no matter what I did.

Oh there's no hope for battery life. Qualcomm's high-end SoC's all sucked in 2015. The SD808 might be better than the SD810, but it's still not great. The Priv gets hot and the battery drains quickly under load, but under light use I have no problems.

By customizations I just meant getting the OS set up the way I wanted it.

I think it is DTEK to blame for battery problems.

I have never managed to optimise battery life of my Passport. Light use for occasional calls and texting - 4 days. Crazy photoshoot and review of the pictures on the SD card - 4 hours. YouTube marathon over wifi - 5 hours. It really depends on what load you have.

Light use in 2G mode with data enabled, reception is terrible at my workplace.
