Hello! I got problem with focus it don't work at all. all photos is smooth now. If u click on screen to focus on an object it just changes brightness. I even already update OS with blitz update via sachesi but it's not help! Guys if u have some ideas how to resolve this issue please post it.

Reboot your phone and see if that fixes the problem. Reboot by holding both volume up and down buttons together till you see the BlackBerry logo show up on screen. Let go of both buttons and let the phone reboot as normal.

Hopefully that will fix your issue for you.

Is your face detection turned on? Try turning it off and see... my camera was slow and pictures were blurry.

My z30 running 10.3.0.1418 is slow to lock focus. Previous 10.2 OS was significantly better. So the cam is capable of better performance...its just the leaked os is not optimized for camera use.

I would recommend trying to do a full os wipe back to the current official release if camera work is critical for you.
Note that when you tap on screen to reposition the focus point, you are also telling it where to take the exposure reading. You can use this to adjust brightness as you like for a given scene. Also note that focus works best where there are strong bright and dark borders in the selected focus box. Don't tap on an area without any horizontal or vertical edges to lock on to.

To add to Tornado99's comments, you can tap on the screen and hold your finger down and it will lock the focus at that point (whatever you touched on the screen). When you move the camera, the focus stays the same, but the exposure keeps working. Try locking the focus and see if it works.

Sorry, I should have clarified a bit. Hold you finger on the screen (rather than just tap) till the square goes green, and you can then let go. You will see a padlock at the bottom of the screen indicating it has been locked.

Nothing helps! It stopped work on official os. Now I got leaked os via autoloader didn't help also! Looks like some hardware issue. Will try to find someone who know smth about BlackBerry devices in my country! Thank guys for help! When I fix it I tell you how!

Focusing on 10.3.0 got really bad, compared to 10.2. I remember a thread where someone reported this got better in 10.3.1. I hope this is true, as the current focusing weakness is driving me mad. I already missed a couple of important pictures that I wanted to take.

My camera will absolutely not focus either, I have never seen the square turn green even if I manually focus or try focus locking. It will focus while shooting a video so that's the only way I can take pictures now...using the photo capture feature while filming a video

You must make sure the focus square is at an area that has contrast... it will not focus on a blank sheet of paper...

An edge... or high contrast (like printed words on a tshirt).... eyes....

Got 10.3.1 nothing changed. Square of focus never green. Trying to take shots while recording video it also smoothly. Trying autoloader with new os not help. On official blackberry support forum zero replies in my topic. Support works so "cool"!

This is exactly my problem, I think it's a hardware issue of some sort...I'm going to contact BlackBerry and see about sending it for service/replacement. The camera is completely not usable.

I don't think it's HW related. My Z30's camera focussed perfectly well before I installed 10.3.0.
But I'm curious about what BB is going to say or do.
