i think it does, because when i connected for the first time it asked me if it was mercury, ford or lincoln

Does this have anything to with the infotainment system (QNX based)?

But Ford had been using Microsoft until very recently (they made an announcement of moving on to QNX).

Ya our Ford Fusion did this as well with Microsoft Sync and long before 10.3.

Our '14 GMC Sierra doesn't have a sweet logo for some reason..........

I don't know about NA market, but in EU and some Asian countries there's voice commands/ control available for music, climate control, telephone etc. via Microsoft Sync.

I drive a 2014 VW Golf GTD here in the UK but when I connect to my bluetooth in the car, I don't get the manufacturers logo on my lockscreen.

Still everything works perfectly well.
