    Don't go by what Airtel's own site and executives say. The BlackBerry Passport works on Airtel 4G in Delhi. Just activated mine despite being told that it won't, and bingo...check the signal bar.

    The 4G deployment in India is primarily on Band 40 which is not supported by Passport. But in Delhi, they seem to have added Band 3 support.

    Licenses permitting, I would expect the bigger cities to have a band 3 network sooner or later. 1800>2300 MHz, when it comes to building penetration and coverage. Hyderabad has a band 3 network as well.
