    Hello fellow passport users:

I just recently acquired a passport and i am having problems connecting to my wifi; the device is toggleling wifi on and off constantly not allowing for the connection to my wifi to be completed, i have all my other BB devices connecting with no issues so i know its not my router.

I have update the OS and i am on 10.3.1.2267 , every other connection looks good, cell,nfc,bt....i am afraid something is phisically wron but i am hoping that is not the case.

I have searched the forums but cant seem to find any posts with similar issue.
    Any ideas?

I would probably go to this thread, load the file via sachesi and it might fix your problem,

Have you tried narrowing down your problem by testing out your wifi connection at other locations not just at home. Try connecting at your friends house and in a public place to be sure that it's not hardware related.

i have loaded up the patch to 10.3.1.2480 ; and the problem persists; I have not had the chance to go anywhere else to test other wifi networks; but i am sure it will fail as the i can visibly see the wifi on/off togle every 3 seconds

For now try toggling on and off airplane mode,

this is Thurask os archive and most every one is there,

Also if you can't fix it with a radio file, maybe it's the settings on your WiFi.

I know I'm late but I've had the same issue when my wifi was briefly turned off. After I started the service again my phone toggled to other wifi profiles in my list because mine wasn't stable. It is stable now and the toggling has stopped but the problem could have been avoided if we could limit the list of wifi profiles our phone chooses from. Anyone know how to do this?

Mine doesn't and never has. Running the OS it came out of the box with. If you're having 'unbearable' problems with a leaked OS, then don't run leaks and go back to the regular OS until there is something available to solve these problems. Or, wait, maybe the crackberry community IS the BlackBerry OS testing environment, in which case - carry on.

    Update:

Last night i wiped device and did a factory reset thru BB Link...OS loaded thru Link 10.3.1.2267. Problem persists and I am still uanble to connect to WIFI at home or at Work. this rules out my home wifi router. So at this point is pointing to a hardware issue with my PP.

challenge is that it I bought this thru craigslist...which means no support from BB; Any one have any experiencing in getting BB repair service even if I have to pay for it?

    Thanks

You should still be able to send it back for service through your provider.

    So i have reloaded the OS and no change so obviously something else going on; I have downloaded autoloader 10.3.0.1154 and will do that once i get home to see if i see any change;

i did look at the WIFI logs and see the fowling repeating:

    CTRL-EVENT-DRV-SCAN-REQ

Nothing else on the logs but that entry over and over.

Have you tried loading the passport fix i posted above yet. it really does help the phone, just make sure your on 2267 first.

Yes I loaded the patch that you suggested and still no go.

Also modified my home wifi router to open and g mode; and still nothing. At this point I am starting to get discouraged that is faulty hardware and that it's hopeless.

Check out your router's sitting for what frequency it has been using, 2.4 or 5 ghz. And set your Passport to 2.4 Ghz

Sallem, I have set my router to 2.4 and also the settings on my passport ; no luck with thats.

    Appreciate the suggestion.

    Update:

I open a case with Blackberry thru webportal; they responded last night with:

"Thank you for contacting BlackBerry Technical Support. We are pleased to assist you.

My apologies for that inconvenience. This is a software related issue and our development team is currently working on a resolution. We have created INC000027977597, and I will be monitoring this for you. As soon as we have an update, I will contact you. "

I really hope it's true and it is only a software issue.

I will keep updating as I receive information ; hope this thread benefits others that might be in the same boat.

Thanks everyone that has taken the time to contribute.
