    My White BB Passport purchased from ShopBB, still under warranty stopped working. After one week on the phone with useless BB customer support , I'm told I can send it back in and they may, or my not be able to fix it for$260. Really BB?!

    Why would they charge you $260 if you have warranty left? You can buy brand new passport for that amount.

    How is the mic off warranty? That doesn't make any sense. I would keep on BlackBerry for this. And $260? That is way too much. My last passport only cost $170USD.

    Replacement piece here for $12. Passport disassembly is pretty straightforward. Not 100% sure how the mic is connected though. Hopefully not soldered.

    I agree it is nonsense though, that they say the mic is not on warranty. Keep bugging them and don't stop.

    I've been able to determine that both tech support AND the repair support being offered are third party, BB owned, agencies. They told me they'd send me a temp phone for $260 per authorized on my card, until or if, they repaired my mic, at which time that would likely cost $260. A solid week on the phone with them back and forth and I'm still speaking on speakerphone so people can hear me! I'm still on OS I've never had many apps downloaded. Don't even use BBM or Amazon. The number I've been getting live help on is 877-255-3377 which thus far has been useless and feels like a dirty scam.

They said they'd send me a temp device , for a $260 precaution on my card, to use while my device goes in for repair, which they may or may not be able to do. If they can, it will likely be $260 (imagine that). Meanwhile I'm still speaking on speakerphone so Anyone can hear me on phone calls. I'm still on OS bc even they couldn't tell me why I should download the OS update that never ceases to remind me is available. I've been dealing with customer support via 877-255-2377 which has thus far proven fruitless
