I met a fellow passport owner (from Canada) at a bbq over the weekend. She told me an amazing story about how she dropped her passport in the toilet....retrieved it from the water and then proceeded to WASH it in the sink, because the toilet water was dirty. Then she dried it off with a towel and turned it back on. No issues then or since. Personally....I find it very difficult to believe but she's a credible person....anyone else hear of something similar with the passport?

Sometimes water just doesn't do the damage you think it will. But it's not waterproof.

Still can't figure out why you'd hold an expensive phone over an open toilet bowl...

It is not waterproof. Someone, somewhere here, once posted about his Passport accidentally drowned in a pool and it didn't survive. I could prove it with my own OG, sure, but only if there's anyone's willing to replace it with an SE. Heheh.

But seriously, though: it's not waterproof. You'll kill it.

Tell her to do drop it again
I am sure this time it won't survive and your doubt will be cleared

It could be if she had sent it to Liquipel for a waterproofing treatment. Was considering doing it with my Z30, but you have to send your phone to the company and, it could take a couple of weeks or more before you get it back !
