Not sure about the HTC but the passport has a higher screen resolution than any iPhone. The passport's screen is amazing. It is bright, clear, usable in bright daylight, etc...

Candybar shaped phones are better for viewing widescreen videos. But for communications and working with documents I think the passport's square screen is vastly better.

    Agreed.

The screen on the Passport is much sharper and usable than my iphone 5. Can comment on the other phone though.

Passport vs iPhone 5S or6 vs HTC M8-img_20150110_083142.png

Resolution wise, Passport is a little better at 453 ppi over M8's 441 ppi. Not sure if it's noticeable to human eyes though.

IPS LCD is considered to be a little better than Super LCD 3 too, not by much though: http://www.techshroff.com/ips-lcd-vs...lay-is-better/

In summary, Passport screen is better on paper out of the 3, we might not be able to clearly tell the difference with our eyes, but there is no way you will see Passport screen as inferior than the other two unless you have a defected device. It's the safest bet if you care about the screen quality.

    Specs matters.

Maybe not spec-wise, but as someone who owns/owned all the devices you mentioned the 6 Plus is the absolute best.

The Passport is very sharp too, just not as bright/vivid as the 6 Plus.

That's good to know. Is passport display better than lumia 930?

Ppi has very less effect to tell about the display. I have a z10 and it has a very good Ppi but when compared to a lumia 720 which has very less resolution has brighter colors and appeared very much better than my z10.

6+ uses LED Backlit IPS LCD which is one generation ahead of the IPS LCD used in Passport, I didn't notice any difference when compared this two devices together but I guess it does to some people.

Again, it's described in specs sheet, spec matters.

There are specs describing the brightness and color saturation of display technology, which will most likely explain the same image appears different to you on two devices.

PPI is just one of the parameters in a spec sheet. Technology push forwards on all boundaries. A few years ago the focus was to increase the ppi, so it become the most known spec parameter for display technologies, and was mistakenly quoted as the only important parameter, and therefore was used as an example to defend the famous quote "spec doesn't matter".

But the fact is, when technology makes breakthrough in providing better user experience, the industry will have to find a way to quantitize such improvement and put in product description. All these quantitized parameters form a spec sheet to characterize products.

Specs can't charactize all aspects of a product, but it doesn't mean specs don't matter. On the contrary, you are more likely to find answers to the differences in user experiences than not.

@aha I agree completely and like the fact that you seemed to abstain from saying which is 'best' as this does ultimately depend on user experience. I love the Passport and cannot argue that the display on this screen is anything but beautiful, however, for my experience, I would have preferred a screen more like the Z30 because of the very noticeable difference it has on the battery life. For me, if I can read what's on the screen without any trouble, the rest of the details are just splitting hairs. Sure, I crank the brightness up if I want to show someone something on my Passport, but I don't fuss about how great of a display my phone has as for me it's irrelevant. If we start talking home entertainment systems though, now that's a whole other story...

To make it through the on her 6, my wife has her brightness cranked way down, she is used to it i suppose but i can hardly read it from any distance after viewing the PP.

The passport has a nicer / sharper display than the iPhone 6. The only android phone that has a similarly nice display is the Nexus 6

I know that. I like my z10 very much but these days people see the phones which has a better display. Z10 is good though there are so many better than that.....

Yes, battery life is an important parameter on spec sheet for me too. I upgraded from Z30 to Passport and was glad that I don't have to dim my screen to get similar battery life.

The perfect device at this point for me would be a phone with Z30 's form factor but Passport 's specs on everything else, that includes the antenna upgrade, the display upgrade, the processor and GPU upgrade, the battery capacity upgrade, etc.

Passport is the first device ever made by BlackBerry that matches the flagship devices from other makers, with the efficiency of BB10, it's such a beast!

I have owned all three and the HTC ONE has the best display in my eyes. It's sharp has great colours and the main reason I find it better is because of the viewing angles. The display just looks like it's floating on top from any angle and doesn't change colour. If I tilt the passport the display starts to get darker. That's my only gripe with it.

I also thought of it. I have seen HTC one M7 and that time there was only iPhone 5 and HTC's display was so much better than the 5. Bdw you like buying all the latest phones? Having owned the best three in every OS it will be great to use all of them....
