I'm almost positive I have a virus or malware on my device. Most apps open slowly and the browser doesn't even open. What do I do?

    I'd just try deleting apps......

There are some "virus" scanner Apps you could try.

Security Wipe, Reset to Factory, Autoloaders....

I don't mind doing that, but I have heard that reloading the OS will sometimes carry the issue with it. As we all do, I have data that I'd really like to keep... so backups might not be the best solution. Anyone know a good Anti Virus for BlackBerry that actually works?

I doubt you have a virus. Try rebooting and if that doesn't work, do a security wipe. If you have a microsd card, you can transfer your files to it (docs, photos, videos, etc.). Everything else will be removed and the OS will be restored to its original state. Good luck!

    Hard reset.

    If it doesn't work, reload!

And virus isn't listed in BB10 dictionary. Only the droid ones such as the P.

Do a custom restore and only restore what you want to keep. Before that do an OS reload through link.

You can do a OS reload. Just don't use the restore from a back up.

Hi I just got my Passport SE 2 days ago. What you can do is download the Norton Antivirus from 9Apps and run it. That way you will know if you have a virus or malware before doing a security wipe and starting over. Good Luck.. Rocking 24-7 with my Passport SE, 64GB Playbook & retired Z10

FIX : I was able to fix the issue, but it did cost me most of my data. I kept security wiping it and reloading the OS but the issue wouldn't leave. I eventually figured out that whatever was hurting my device was on the micro SD card. I'm now going to have to format the card in order to use it without issue...

    Yep!
Because there are no viruses that can effect BB10.

I can confirm, that's mostly true . I've had a few viruses get grabbed by Secure AntiVirus Pro. Most though are more malware (Android side only) and spyware (dirty BlackBerry 10 developers) or Trojans in downloadables waiting for a Windows user to run the files off the cards.

All the major virus incidents I've worked out with customers so far have been mostly middleman injections not specific to their device, but a hack into their router or network.

Outside of privacy and accessing or modifying public folder data on devices, I haven't seen any real risks to the device themselves.

    BB10 is AWWWWWESOOOOME!!!

Which is why I feel a whole lot safer putting all of my banking thingies on my Passport and Q10. The ASUS Z6 is just for playing games, reading ebooks, and collecting malwares. Heck, I don't even put my contacts there.

I've had a similar problem with my SD card. I copied everything off of it, formatted it, copied everything back, and it worked properly after.

I'm happy you found the culprit.
Was the sd card a cheap one? it's likely the sd card was starting to die on you. Some cheap ones don't last long.
Try run a chkdsk on it and it may pickup some dodgy sectors.

    Something many don't know...
when using SSD drives in a computer you are not supposed to defragment it, and most of the better drives are picked up by windows 7 and above and the built in defrag is turned off on them.
Reason being is that there's a finite amount of times they can be written to before they fail. The better and much more expensive ones last a fair while, but the cheapies don't, and end up failing.
The same goes for thumb drives, SD cards etc, when they fail, one of the first signs is a slow down whenever the device accesses the card, and each time it does, the problem gets worse. I had quite a few pc's needing repairs thanks to a dodgy thumb drive with the owner thinking there was a virus. OK, many had viruses too lol.

I've not heard of any BlackBerry viruses as yet, but have heard of many for the competition. Usually when a problem arises with a BlackBerry restarting fixes it, although my Z10 had issues and crashed twice requiring an op reload resulting in a loss of data, and once reloaded the backups fail to restore.

I have a problem with DNS Unlocker. Can not get rid of it. Tried delete the cache, restart, security wipe, reinstall the OS using Link. No luck. I do not use Amazon, Google or android apps, only apps installed are from BB world. No porn whatsoever.

You should probably create your own thread and detail what the problem is. Here we are focused on the op
