The Passport is now under $200 on amazon, would it be a good upgrade from a Q5? I'm worried I may not like the keyboard as it looks like it isn't as clicky as the Q5.

I don't care about the lack of apps.

You may have to get used to wide keyboard especially if you're coming from Q5. Keyboard is not clicky. It's hard and firm feeling.

Coming from a Q5; a Q10, Classic or Passport are upgrades. That being said, how long do you plan on using Passport?

If you're not relying on apps, you should get a year from it. Problem is browser is starting to have issues for some people, that's why price is dropping in some markets.

Biggest differences are the location of the space bar and the dual physical keyboard for letters and virtual for everything else.

Both of you have Passports. OP is asking specifically about spending new money now. You've probably gotten your money's worth. Is there a problem with full disclosure and honesty? I mean, I specifically put "some people"...

I sincerely did not see people complains about the browser. Sure, it is not fast as Chrome on Android, but you can use pretty well. There are also other browsers available in the BBW that work pretty well. I do not see at all the browser a problem for the Passport at all.

I advise the person who started the thread to get a Passport if he likes and if it is not expensive, knowing also the limitation of future support and apps. Then to be objective, all the smartphones may have problems, as you can see the complains in the BlackBerry android section of CB.....

I think you'll appreciate the Passport's keyboard even if it won't be as clicky as a Q5. The capacitive function alone would be an upgrade for you.

All BB10 browsers use a dead WebKit and certs were last refreshed with 10.3.3.

Of course if $200 for a hobby phone is no problem for the OP then none of this matters, but since he is asking he probably needs full disclosure before pulling the trigger.

Best Keyboard I've ever had on a phone, and I've had BlackBerry PKB phones since the 'clicky wheel' products donkeys' years ago.

Took me a couple of days to get completely used to the Passport keyboard (after previous Q10 & many Bolds etc).

BTW I could never get used to the Q5 (my director had one) as the keyboard was too small for my fat fingers.

NB No idea what the 'browser issues' are that somebody else has mentioned.

Summary: Best smartphone I have ever owned/used.

Better is subjective. If you need apps and full google play access, it's better.

If you value a great PKB, some would say the PP is better. I'm one of those people.

People need to get what works for them.

I'm currently dual wielding a 7Plus and a Passport. Passport handles all my communication and email while the Plus is for apps. Best of both world in my opinion.

Everyone's needs and setup is different. That's why I say it's all subjective.
