That's the lab that BB/ Chen just partnered with.
The Passport shown is a medical specific version that will be released early next year as a result of this partnership .
Great move by Chen- huge niche market in genome sciences!

The good stuff is the stuff they didn't even mention in the story: How the data is being collected by QNX-powered medical devices and delivered by BlackBerry's network to the computers that crunch it. This is the Internet of Things in action, and it holds great promise in cancer treatment. Very cool stuff!

I saw it. I knew something would already be posted here about it. When I got home my wife said she saw it too and knew it was the latest BlackBerry device, and she doesn't even follow BlackBerry except for seeing me use mine all the time.

I felt "60 minutes" just merely mentioning BlackBerry's involvement/partnership was glossed over way to quickly, but I did appreciate however, how the good Doctor/Scientist held on to the Passport throughout more of the interview, thereby at least creating a stronger BlackBerry presence in this way with the Passport . I'm sure this was not just coincidence. Smart man this Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong (chief executive of NantHealth) . Fascinating technology. Good going Mr. Chen. Impressive involvement by Blackberry with NantHealth. Things appear to be moving along well into the future for BlackBerry and NantHealth. Although other platforms will be used we are being told elsewhere, the other platform will still require the security of the BlackBerry Network. Good Stuff.
