I don't know if you guys had the same problem but when I put the phone in my pocket for a while and then the phone turns on by itself...perhaps it touched the assistant button on the right.

Also some apps were opened even the flight mode was on..I was wondering why I didn't receive any messages...

Can anyone sort out this problem for me please.....

    Same here.
I'm pretty sure, it's not the Assistant button, but the pocket touching and activating the screen.
A few times I've even got the message "you've entered the wrong password". Some other users experienced some speed dialing on its own.
I've kind of solved this issue by using a cover. As the front is covered then, there are no accidental activations any longer.

Yes I get that when I'm wearing jeans! I don't password protect it so it has changed my setting a few times.. annoying.

I thought it was the 'lift to wake' function. Now that I turned it off it happens but fewer.

    Definitely do this!
Yet, I still have the problem that the phone turns off when in my jeans pocket. Unfortunately the above stated setting, or even password lock don't change that.

Make sure advanced interactions like "stay awake while holding" and "lift to wake" are turned off.

C'mon this is so childish this could happen with any phone in the pockets, common sense.

Used to happen to me too... the screen is sensitive. Face the screen opposite your body and it won't happen anymore.

I have one of those portfolio flip cover wallet cases on mine so my screen is covered. Yesterday it was in my coat pocket and the phone somehow activated Screen Reader mode. It was annoying. Didn't even know it had that feature!

I believe the "lift to wake" feature is the culprit. Was happening to me all the time when on but hasn't happened since I turned it off.

Also be sure 'Turn on Screen for New Notifications' is turned off in Privacy settings. Lost a bit of battery life due to that one.

There is a new app called PocketSafe now
available in BlackBerry World that prevents your phone from accidentally doing anything while in your pocket, even if you forget to lock the screen. PocketSafe is the only solution and it works perfectly on my Passport. It not only prevents pocket calling but also protects you from muting or dialing when you press the phone to your face during a call.

OP, maybe there's 'other' reason that made your Passport turned on.

This is exactly what I've been doing and haven't had any issues since then. The only thing I don't like is the back against the body doesn't feel as comfortable as the screen facing the body when it's in the jean pocket.

Used to happen to me too... the screen is sensitive. Face the screen opposite your body and it won't happen anymore.

Locking your phone before putting in your pocket is the safest solution. Use keyboard shortcut to lock it (default is K if I am not mistaken).

Pocketsafe is also a good app. Simple but effective.

BlackBerry should increase the distance it takes to unlock the phone with swipe or at least make a settings option. Problem solved.

Yea it's swipe to wake. The passport apparently has zero pocket detection ability. I had to turn it off.
