I just boughted a few weeks ago a Samsung Tab S 8.4 and work great with the Passport, but tablet was sometimes laggy and I really don't like the colors on the Tab S 8.4 so I just return it and order a Sony Tablet Z3 in white and it's better, quicker than the Samsung.

Other thing I don't like on the tab S 8.4 was all the crappy software preloaded

Passport and Surface Pro 3 for those times when only Windows platform will work. Blend and BlackBerry link generally work better on Windows too

I'm going this way too! I want to push a little toward an all in one device, not completely, but as much as reason allows.
I agree with you on this, I don't know how many people still remember Windows and BlackBerry making some sort of deal late last year before the PassPort was all hyped up, but something along the lines of Virtu-Sim was mentioned too. I passed on the BBPP because I'm curious to see what the road-map ahead will have. I was going to buy the Surface Pro 3 but with Windows releasing the "Laplet" in late Summer, I hope to see Windows/BlackBerry with their new device in 2016 or 2017.

So hopefully BlackBerry will build towards an "All-In-One" device... even my next computer will be yet another All-In-One by Windows which doesn't come out for a little while. Not saying they need to be anything like everyone else or other companies, but if Chen does want to incorporate a laptop/tablet with Windows as part of BlackBerry, I would certainly buy into something that is trust worthy on both company's levels.

My Passport has pretty much replaced my iPad mini. I write shorter first and second drafts of material and just tweak it for window dressing in MS Word on my computer. Use the browser all the time to read articles. I have my Nook installed for reading e-books and Overdrive for renting the from the library.

The only thing I do not use my passport for is gaming. Too much time invested (wasted?) getting high scores in Angry Birds and Candy Crush. I do have some time wasters like Doodle Jump and Cut the Rope and they work well. iPad mini has really just become a gaming device.

Up to a couple of weeks ago I was contemplating getting a tablet or the passport. My setup was Q10 + macbook and was thinking of getting an ipad air. Then I seriously considered a w8 tablet setup which would give me access to all operating systems.

I took a close look at the passport and then decided to not use a tablet and only stay with the passport myself. It really depends, since a tablet may provide additional ecosystem (which would be the the main plus in my eyes) and in a way screen real estate.

the screen of the passport for me is great for the compromise + not having to have 2 devices on me.

Nonetheless, if I were to get a tablet I would most probably go for a W8 (ms, Assus or lenovo in that order) or the ipad, but as I said, if ecosystem is not an issue, I think that an additional tablet is more of a burden than solution and cost/value drops when combined with the passport, at least in my setup and for my use.

If I had to give a solid answer and budget aside, a microsoft surface 2 pro would most probably be my final choice at 10.6 inches

Surface Pro because it can do everything a laptop can do, but it lacks the app catalog.

iPad because it has the app catalog, but BlackBerry Blend sucks on it.

Android because it was has the app catalog and BlackBerry Blend works better on it, but the UX may very.

I have all 3, if I was to choose one for work, my choice would be the Surface Pro.

For a bit of time wasting, it would be the iPad.

how are you liking the combo? just out of curiosity, since I was about to pull the triger on the 2 pro but stayed back.

how is it to carry around when you "want to go light" but have to bring it with?

    cheers for the input

That is what I am using. Nexus 7 2013 model. With the 5.0.2 update it does a lot, is fluid, and does all of the things the Passport doesn't. I think they are a good pair.

I agree. Anything larger starts to curtail portability. And, if I want to totally fool autocorrect into sending out some totally silly words, I can use Blend for android instead of the phone itself. LOL

Yes. I have tried to survive without laptop and playbook since I got the passport last October.
It is mostly doable, but I still need the laptop to do some work remotely and compose presentations and papers from scratch.
I only use the tablet when I am watching 2-3 TV channels simultaneously.
There is nothing other than multimedia that a tablet does better than the passport, certainly not email, not text editing and not presentations.
