I have T-Mobile USA. My passport picks up LTE perfectly fine. Did a speedtest a while back and in my area was getting like 60mpbs down or something like that. It is very consistent. The only thing I noticed is indoors my service is a bit more iffy than other phones.

Did you have to do anything other than insert your sim card?

Just had to pop the sim card in and turn her on. Other than that it worked itself out.

Works great. Only put in SIN card and it worked.

    Still don't have VVM though.

Mine is fine as well. Been with T-Mobile for 10 years. They even sent me a free Nano Sim! Q10 apps Transferred over just fine using Link. Seems just as good or a little better reception than with Q10. Be sure to check your Settings connection Network and make sure LTE is selected.

Tmobile rep said that their network automatically recognizes if the phone has lte. But since the passport is not recognized by there network it won't work.

Do not listen to this person. You should try swapping a SIM with someone else who is getting LTE and I'll bet it works.

The Passport is missing 700 Mhz LTE band which T-Mobile acquired last year. Certain markets might already switched to 700 Mhz LTE (although I doubt they turned off the 1700/2100 and 1900).

Try to find 700mhz LTE coverage map to get one more factor excluded or included.

Yes but it's not Band 12 which is what I was referring to. Google T-Mobile band 12.

T-Mobile's network know uses half a dozen frequencies over different technologies.

From my research the phone that had LTE next to me yesterday a galaxy s5 tmobile branded does not have support for that band 12 either. So te me it looks like something fishy is going on. Will have an update when I insert the sim from that s5 into my passport later today.

This sounds like the same issue others were having with LTE on AT&T. If t-mobile's system is not recognizing your device, that most likely will cause the issue. Can you give them another IMEI number from an LTE phone you're no longer using? If not ask them to put a dummy IMEI that their system would recognize as a 4G LTE device. But they won't do any of this at the stores. You need to call tech support and ask them real nicely to help you sort this problem. They should be able to take care of doing that.

This worked for the AT&T Passport users who were having this problem.

BTW, just read your above post again. That may do it as well.

    Second that with more info:
AT&T doesn't give a s**** what device has the SIM. It's their stupid provisioning system that allows LTE or not based on the IMEI that is MANUALLY entered in to that system. I was there, using my T-Mobile Q10 with AT&T over an year - gave them Note 3 IMEI to get LTE running.

I also happen to have T-Mobile account and contrary to AT&T, T-Mobile auto updates their system based on what devices has the SIM. For example, one of my lines both S5 of craigslist and T-Mobile account page shows his phone as S5. We never told them we have changed a device.
