I'm so glad there is 32gb internal memory. I don't like having both internal and scd cards.
The only scd card I would want is like 5gb for a few larger files like a movie.

Anything more, and I don't feel like it is safe on those stupid cards. I much rather have all my eggs in one basket

BlackBerry Passport Will Be The Only Device To Feature "ProReceiver" Technology This Year

This is exactly what BlackBerry should be doing. Giving names to their features. People see "ProReceiver" as something much more revolutionary than just saying "we've added another mic and made sounds more realistic than ever".

Just like apple when they released their "retina display", it's all about appearance.

The battery is said to be non-removable. But the Micro-SD slot is under the back cover, ergo the back cover is removable. Which exposes the battery. Something doesn't make sense. Why make the battery non-removable if the back cover comes off the Passport?

I believe that's 19 hours of use THEN 8 hours standby. Not total.

ToF seems to be what powers things like Kinect. How this will be used has me curious. The most logical thing would be camera focusing. But would be even cooler if we could control the phone by using hand gestures.

    Posted via CB10
I looked it up and it sounds like it will be for the proximity sensor to determine if you face is to the phone or not. ToF is next gen tech for proximity sensors.

Sounds like they will have a proprietary connection so it can be split into other things. USB 3.0, display port, etc.

Though I hate proprietary connections, this opens up the odor to BlackBerry making custom docks for the device that can do many things!!

Smh. A travesty would be something like having a 4 MP rear camera, or an old dual core processor. Wireless charging would be nice, but I'm sure myself and plenty of others were not like "wtf was BlackBerry thinking" when we seen that it was omitted.

No it isn't. Wireless charging is slower and not many people use it.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Word is that, Verizon is in the beginning stages of testing their own variant of the BlackBerry Passport. I have no proof of this, but have been hearing info coming in from fellow CrackBerry members who’ve spoken to Verizon representatives within the last week.

The latest correspondence also has no mention of wireless charging. So my hope is that BlackBerry does produce a Verizon/CDMA variant and that this variant has the wireless charging that we read would be coming to the BlackBerry Passport.

The passport is exactly like the Z30, with back cover removed to get at the SIM and SD card and the battery is not removable.

And I personally don't want wireless charging, too much of a health hazard for me.

I have both a Z10 and Z30 and although I love the big screen of the Z30, I prefer the LCD of the Z10.

Is wireless charging a health hazard?

Edit: just looked it up. Some low frequency radiation, less dangerous that cell phone radio. But still, I'd rather limit my exposure to all this junk. Super happy about bedside mode in 10.3 and how it kills radios.

if you'll have some cable which fits the new passport connector on one side and will have the throughput of USB3.

probably the cable which is in the box witll have some kind of limited number of pins or something which will be USB2 compatible only?

and most probably you'll use it only with weak phone - like - when you sit near your desk, you just put it on charger to add ome juice.
passport's battery is a beast - it will be available for 48 hours - at least

Note: this was supposed to be a reply, but the second time I /my CB10 app has failed to put my comment where I intended: regarding EM radiation from wireless charging.

I have 2 wireless printers, a wifi/LTE tablet, two wireless phones, three wifi routers, wifi blue-ray and personally I don't need to pr want to add a new EM source when it isn't efficient or necessary. What is the threshold for safe? Who knows what that really is? As well, everyday something we are told is safe turns out not to be. And since herbicides and pesticides we are told are safe have almost killed one of my dogs half a dozen times, call me a skeptic!

I think it works the same in 10.2.1, but it seems clearer in 10.3. I have it set to basically (for all intents and purposes) toggle airplane mode when bedside mode is enabled.
