Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same issues as I have.
The sensors seem to fail for no apparent reason. I notice under low light conditions that keypad not lighting up so I ran a diagnostic.
This is the second passport that this happened with. First one I exchanged for another unit, now this on this one is having the same issue.

Did you restore a backup from a previous device?

I had a compass stuck on true north and solved that by deleting the stock compass app and reinstalling it. It may have been using settings from my Q10 and the delete and restore sorted it out.

There is also a new version of BBVE. If you did a restore from a previous device, it may have installed the older BBVE.

Did you restore a backup from a previous device? If you did, try security wiping and setting up manually and see if you get the same errors. It may just be a software issue.

Ya I restored from a backup off my z30. Hard reset usually fixes the issue. It's gone now but I'm going to keep an eye on it.

Happens again, I'll take your advice and do a wipe and set it up manually.

I edited my post, remembering I had some problems with the compass app and maybe even BBVE. Delete the apps and reinstall.

In the tech forums it is not recommended to do a system restore as that can and will corrupt your new os on yer new device.

I'm not going to wait for more problems to happen. Just gonna wipe the passport and do a brand new manual setup. Makes sense.

The recommendations to not restore your data is on the leaked os, not the official ones. You should call BlackBerry and speak to their technical support.

If it's an issue, then blackberry wouldn't support it. I restored all my data from my z10 on my passport and I'm not experiencing any issues. The restore does not restore core OS files such as sensors so they would be affected.

The phone came with 30 days of technical support, why not give them a call?
