I had Z10 for 3 years and the unlock swipe gesture worked every
time I used it. But on my new Passport SE this gesture does not work as expected. Sometimes I swipe my finger 3 or more times to turn on the screen.
    Anyone experiencing the same?

I had a protective glass put on the screen. Can that be the cause?

The protective glass ain't a problem. This is a known issue. Which OS are you on btw?
It's been better since upgrading to OS10.3.3
Works almost everytime with 2 swipes, and sometimes with 1.

The trick is to just press on the U key. I, too, have a tempered glass screen protector on mine but the issue existed prior to applying it. This is in the Passport, not the SE. But the U key works every time.

Press U and Enter quickly to unlock your device (or bring you to the password screen if that's activated).

    Yes, Press U.
Also, make sure you disable 'Swipe to Wake' to get massive battery savings.

I've gotten use to sliding my finger up and down the screen until it wakes.

Yes but you didn't mention that pressing Enter quickly after U takes you an even further step. Pressing U just gets you to the initial screen.

    Just sayin.

Yep, I have same issue (on the SE) and I do not have a screen protector or "protective glass". Faulty software is my guess. Frustrating.

Thanks everyone. It's good to see all BlackBerry guys have found the solution: long pressing U. ( BlackBerry people find a way or make one). I had also found this method.

But I liked the U followed by Enter. It was new for me and very helpful, although U followed by a swipe seems easier.

I like to add that in my experience the interactive options "Lift to wake" and "Hold to stay awake" work very good for me. If you didn't try them give them a shot.

Haven't got the update notification on my device yet. I rather wait for that, and I don't want autoloader .

It appears that if you have a carrier-issued Passport (NOT from shopblackberry), it most likely will not send you a 10.3.3 update notification, as from what I'm seeing it's carrier-dependent.
