Just picked up another Passport and I notice that the newer one manufactured in December has a yellow tint to the screen vs my original one manufactured in November that has a cooler blue color. I'm wondering what the standard is supposed to be for these LCDs. The yellow in some ways looks washed out compared to the blue but I'm not sure.

Are the color settings the same in Settings > Display > Display Color Settings?

    Yes exactly the same.

No two Passports are basically alike as far as white balance of the display goes. This is consistent with the fact that a lot of them have dead/stuck pixels. These are not top grade panels. They are not bad though and luckily we have the white point adjustment.

The white adjustment doesn't change it from yellow at all.

Well, it does a bit. However, a screen that has its white balance way off won't be changed enough by the white point adjustment to become neutral.

when I turn the yellow screen's white balance fully to the left all it does is make the screen more dull or darker. Odd.

Hi, Could you try moving the slider all the way to the right towards the warm white and then bring the slider back to the center position and see if that fixes it?

    No that doesn't change it.

I just checked about 10 more and they consistently had warm colors - all different build dates. When I look at my original one it seems dark. I think the cool one must be an outlier.

I have the same problem with one which is from January, bought it from ebay. I think a new one I tried in December had the same yellowish tint.
I also tried a white PP in january too, wanted to keep it but found a nearly new cheap black from ebay, it had the cold white color I love on displays. Some are fans of warm colors, I like cold color displays way more.

Changing settings changes it a bit but not too much. And sometimes I think it is way colder in different situation, maybe depending on the light of environment.

Hi, I bought BlackBerry Passport in october'14, unfortunately the screen came a bit off from lower left corner. Sent it back to BlackBerry Care/Service station, they replaced the screen. Unfortunately have this screen a touch too much Yellow to the white color. I tried everything in settings, Brightness/Saturation/Cool Warm. Nothing seems to work.

Can anyone advice? Do I need to send it back?

It's the luck of the draw for what screen temp you get. You could see if they would take it back but you could get one even warmer.

Bought a black passport manufactured in Dec 2014 and I got the slightly warm display as compared to the Jan build of my sister's white PP and mum's red PP. It doesn't really bother me after using it for awhile but it does feel like the white is off-white slightly. I came to love it anyway simply cause it reminds me of my lovely Q10. Plus everything with it comes flawless, so as long as it's working, not complaining

Blue displays make no sense to me. They're bluer than paper and bluer than what videos are calibrated to which is 6500K.

If you have one biased toward the warm end consider yourself lucky.

I had a very yellow screen for my Q10 and tried to adjust using the white balance slider. Extreme white scale was still yellow. I returned the phone and got a new one the same day. The new one was fine. Maybe you need an immediate replacement.
