To my horror I just realised that the lower left hand corner of my BlackBerry Passport screen is loose. When I press this part of the screen, there is a distinct depression of the screen. However, this is not the case for the rest of the screen on the passport.

Is this normal? Or should I be worried?

    Hello there,

You are not alone, for me the top right corner of my Passport. The screen is slightly lifted but still within the frame not that it shows unless you really look hard or I show you where it is.

Many users have also reported this, for some it's really bad and for others not an issue !!!

Date of manufacture? It's on the label on the side of the box.

Check your phone edges closely, it could have warped, resulting in screen popping up. Twist it back and the screen will sit back in position.

Happened to mine, bottom left and top right corner.

The screen is loose and it make clicking sounds when I press it. The phone icon is at the spot and when I touch the icon it only reacts half of the time. I don't have the box with me, but I bought it in mid October from Amazon.

Just contacted Amazon and shared with them regarding this issue. They have given me a full refund. Sending back this unit and will be buying another Passport. Probably will go for the white one.

I must say, amazon always impress me with their customer service!!

With regards to the white passport, for those of you who have it, any comments with regards to how you like the wite edition? Does the white plastic tend to get dirty? Easy to clean? In thsi respect black is always a bit more forgiving colour for a unit that spends a lot of time in hands.

My understanding is the pre-November units might be prone to this.

You are right. The box from my Passport purchased through Amazon shows a date code of 141114, so 14 November 2014. There are no screen lifting problems so far but I have been careful with the device in the 3.5 weeks since delivery. I don't use a case either.

If the device twists then the screen will be pulled off at one the corners.

My passport was produced post November. I have taken it apart to replace my shattered screen. They use double sided tape to affix the screen /digitizer to the frame. It was a chore getting the old screen off. Perhaps they used something else before that was not as tenacious.

You maybe right. I think there was a thread where someone pulled it apart as said it was glue not tape.

I replaced my screen and it was a combination of the two--tape on the top and bottom edges and a weird tacky glue all along each side

The distinction between glue and tape is paper thin.

The lower right side of the screen was coming up a tad. I contacted shop blackberry and they gave me no issue at all after I sent them a photo. I bought my device October 3, 2014. Blackberry offered to repair or replace my device at no charge and sent a prepaid fedex package the following day. I have been without my passport for two days now. I'm using a Note 4 in the meantime and can't believe the UI is set up like this. Nice screen phone is ok but in no way replace my passport. Blackberry 10/ QNX is the future.

Somewhere along the line Blackberry changed their glue or got a bad batch. They have been known for engineering their phone screen with glue in the past and have all been successful. The Passport not so much.

I didn't understand what the fuss is with people screen falling apart about until I dropped my passport on hardwood floor for the first time. The phone was ok and no sign of serious damage however the right bottom corner was sticking out. I didn't want to warranty the phone because it would be a hassle and I have zero patience. I simply borrowed crazy glue from my friend, put a dab underneath the screen with a pin and put some pressure on the screen after. The crazy held the screen together more securely. After dropping it the 2nd time the screen still held together. An easy solution that I hope works for everyone.

That's quite daring. Hope you worked it out or planned this ahead a little before you dived right in. Or you've just been lucky. This stuff can be real nasty and cause more harm than good.

Anyway, it's great to hear it worked for you... :-)

    Pics are always welcome...
