    Hello everyone,
My Passport runs doing almost everything. This thing heats up quickly too.
I have booted a few times and that didn't make any difference.
I have not reloaded the OS as yet, I'm hoping that I don't need to or that if I do it will be the fix.

    Anyone else having this issue?

I am not 100% sure but it seems to heat up more when on the charger and you're using it.

Also seems to be warmer when Snap is running for me.

Check the device monitor to see if anything is running and using a lot of battery. In my case, I found Blend running and using a lot of the battery. There was a Blend update and I haven't seen this problem again.

Let it fully charge and settle in for a few days.
The only time my Passport gets hot is when playing graphics intensive games, or using it while charging.
Even charging it with a high capacity Playbook charger, it only gets slightly warm.

Mine got hot the first few hours after I did the device switch, for the time everything syncs I guess. If your using android apps that may be the cause too, I remember a couple of them doing that on my Z10.

Yes it will run hot when downloading large apps and definitely when running heavy games like Total Conquest. My Z30 got super hot when playing games also but Passport definitely heats up under heavy CPU load.

my passport heat up a bit during initial sync and downloading apps. but it's nowhere near as hot as my Lumia 930. the 930 gets boiling hot especially during wireless charging.
on normal days passport is pretty cool i guess.

Mine is hot now just from browsing the Web and I've had my passport a week. It can be uncomfortable when taking a call because of the heat on my ear.

It's indexing stuff right now. Just wait for a few days or so. Even worse if it's PIM from EAS or BES as it is downloading old data. It'll settle down and you'll see your battery life and processor speed dramatically improve.

Hey there, I just received my 2nd PP, my first one did the exact same thing as you (running hot, unresponsive touch screen at times, reboot etc..). One thing I did differently with the new one was doing a fresh install. I think transferring all my old apps & media card onto the PP corrupted it & made it do weird things. This one has been running super cool so far. I would do a back up & a factory reset & try the same.

Had the same experience on the first day. When attached to the charger it got hot. But since then never again and also charging goes fast.

Im facing the same problem only when using an app that takes a lot of power !!!

I've also installed the leak OS 10.3.1.1016, I think I could be due to that but I've read through the forums and found it also occurs in devices running the Official OS !!!

I've had that happen with updates and new apps. Settling plus a volume buttons shutdown tended to fix that. Runs cool now.

I believe this is inherent to the current processor that the passport is using and the lack of extra cooling features designed into the chasis. mine is still running hot after a month's use but less so now .Ha Ha everytime it gets too hot, I just vol +/- reboot!

Passport getting really hot specially when watching videos on browser and playing games even in just few minutes. I never experienced this on iphone which only having 1gb ram. Not really cool for blackberry when you are watching or playing you need to stop just to cool down the temp. Annoying!

Guys, mine runs hot during Skype video calls, but that's to be expected. Otherwise no issues with over-heating. My other phone is Sony Xperia Z3, so I am used to a nice warm feeling in my hands.....LOL!
