Hi, I am new to CB. My last blackberry was an 8310 and looking into getting a passport. Is there any difference between the red, black and/or Silver?

Silver is the best. Near perfect and fixes most issues compared to the OG.

    Red is the second best.

Black is the absolute worst due to high probability for defects. The only reason to get the Black version is to feel like an OG.

I am awaiting my Silver Edition Passport as we speak. I have had both the unlocked version and the AT&T versions. I believe you can't be a better deal than with Crackberry Canada. $130 worth of accessories and the SE Passport. If you're in the States that's $507. The keyboard and ergonomics on the AT&T model were much nicer. The build quality and backplate on the SE is second to none. Sold my other two and awaiting delivery.

I would love the red. Although I was going to get the SE with accessories but it is no longer available in the US.

I have owned the AT&T, OG and now the silver. The SE is the best version, hands down.

Yeah its funny how people are when the pp came out it was the best thing ever. Now people talk like it's trash lol hey guys your silver passport is a new case not a complete new phone. I know I know but the keyboard is softer ok cool point is the black passport red silver are pretty much the same sure some will get a defective unit some won't. Mine is used I'm sure over a year old before I got it it's perfect and black lol heck I seen a pic on here of a guy that took the case off of his silver super great awesome better then everything passport and it took a chip out of it lol. Mine doesn't do that

My ATT black PP was made in May 2015 and the person i bought it from it is Perfect and I am digging it. I wish there was more options for a case it came with the seidio hard case and it adds to much bulk in my opinion i want the leather flex shell that comes with the SE but the flash is just off a bit.

I almost pulled the trigger on the SE but I got mine for $405 shipped

Actually, I have had two SE Passports already and they were both defective. Display in the upper right would not stay glued down, Keyboard would not always light up and both of them had wrinkles in the matting behind the display that created a straight white light whenever a white background was present. I love this device but am going back to the flawless build of my Red Passport. Even my AT&T version has less defects than the SE so I wouldn't necessarily give it the trophy for being the best yet!

I never heard many defect stories from red Passport users and now that I have one, in the short time I've had it...haven't seen anything wrong with it. If I had to choose between the Silver and the Red, I'd stick with the Red. Looks nicer. I don't like those rounded edges and all the visible sensor junk running along the top of the Silver model.

Please respect OGs that paved the way for future generations. Your blatant lack of respect is appalling.

I just grabbed the AT&T passport and don't really feel bad about my decision. Mostly because I never have a phone for more than a few months so there's never a need to buy a limited edition or special version.

Why? The Black Passport was the ORIGINAL. And the phone certainly is GANGSTER. Seems to work. Unless you are one of those politically correct types. A lot of political correctness seems to be going on around here a lot lately. Interesting.

    Care to elaborate?
BlackBerry redesigned the shell and relocated the antenna. I hear the antenna is not markedly better and the design is arbitrary.

No one answered the OP. There are three types of Passports:

1.) Black/White/Red - Original Passport. All the same.
2.) Silver Passport - Updated version of the above. Improved keyboard. Improved look, in my opinion. Mostly metal.
    3.) AT&T Passport - Ugly, SIM-locked, and bloatware. Don't bother.

Oh, I do too! It's better looking in every way. It just worked out better to get the AT&T version. They gave me a $200 credit on the phone for trading in a cheap windows phone. Couldn't pass that up. But if I was buying a phone outright, I would have absolutely gone for the silver edition.

In regards to weight and size - the SE is a bit bigger but thinner and also having a bit more weight, does anybody who has both anything to say about that?

I just ordered a SE, but still could flip to a Black ;-)
