Hi, I have the option to get a used Passport for $100. I am currently a Priv user but I saw someone selling a Passport and wanted to try it out. I use mostly FB, CB, Reddit and eMail with Web browsing. Will a Passport fit my needs as a backup/secondary phone? How is the overall usability of it.

Good choice. Priv has it beat for apps I guess but on the communication front (which it is a PHONE after all) I don't think it can be beat. Something about this wide, three row keyboard (especially on the SE) just makes you want to send a bunch of emails that you don't even have to send. Once you get used to the keyboard layout, combine that with the shortcuts, you can't go wrong! Plus, if it was all about apps and nothing else, we'd all have iphones right?

Can't go wrong at $100. Even if you got with it for a bit and place it on a shelf.

I am loving the os. It's so fluid! I installed playstore and the few social media apps I use and news. My only problem is that my battery seems to not be neat as good as I thought. Drops 25% in a couple hours. Is this because of the few android apps? They are set to not run in background but it's still an issue. A few percent from reading the paper too.

I made the switch from Priv to Passport on July 11th and haven't looked back.
The Passport experience isn't flawless but I'm happier.

    Ivan,

Something weird is going on with your battery life. I charge my Passport SE once every 4 or 5 days, and that's with heavy use. I don't even let it drop all the way down. I charge it back up when it's around 15%.

Any ideas how to fix? Even being in standby in my pocket it's dropped from 50 to 43. It has been off the charger for maybe four hours and used maybe two and a half.

Did you flash/factory reset it when you got it?

The person before flashed it with the autoloader because the reset froze at 97 for two days.

For battery life I use greenify. It works for me. I went into android notifications and stopped all android app notifications as they don't work anyway. Downloaded appops and disabled unnecessary android permissions. Then made sure to disable run when minimized and run in background. That's all.
