They are making the extra money up on the oem holster at $149. So buy this and buy a holster and you would still be out $700.

$544 offsets State sales tax at a maximum of 10%. 544 x 1.1 = 598.40 to match BlackBerry's direct price of $599. For those who pay less or no sales tax it's purely a bonus.

I completely agree, I was waiting for the Classic and contemplating between it and the Passport, but the price made the decision much easier.
