This is butchery... wtf is the purpose of this?

Wow! Was never a fan of the Passport. But this is quite impressive.

Ummm... To test the phones' water-resistant capabilities. Kinda obvious. :D

Passport headphone jack shorted. Unsafe volume level warning.
Likelihood is that all the ports won't work until dry.
I'm envious of people that can waste phones like this. and own plushy animals for towels. :D
The warning went on because he turned the volume all the way up.

Mine has only done that when headphones are plugged in.
I am impressed with the Passport as well. I had no idea that it was this water-resistant. When I purchased my Passport, no where did I see this info in product info or specs. Thanks OP for the info!
Sorry, have to disagree here. You should be able to turn the volume to the max WITHOUT seeing this warning.
Passport is not water resistant... the fact that it doesn't shut off right in the video doesn't make it water resistant, the phone is done at this point.

The phone is not water resistant, there is no test that is needed for that. The video doesn't prove anything, it is just waste.

Maybe a waste for you, but not for him. It's not your Passport he's dunking, so chill. ;)

Well, duh! :)
Still amazed that the Passport survived that long. Was expecting it to conk out within a few seconds after it was dunked.

One of my buddies dropped his SE in water and nothing happened. While another one of my buddies got his slightly wet (he can't remember how exactly) and a few days later it was toast.
The screen may work but I doubt the keyboard does. Wonder if he will follow this up...

Is that what BB10 is going to be all about for the next few months? Sigh.
Too bad that he didn't test out the keyboard.
I'm still surprised at how water resistant the Passport is though.
There was a wet towel in my bag with my previous LG G2 and that was enough to make the digitizer go crazy and not register inputs correctly.
Thanks OP for the test . This is a startling revelation that the Passport is water resistant. Never thought that a such a massive PKB device like Passport can survive 3 minutes in water as there is too much possibility of water ingress from the keyboard. Speaks volumes about the product quality.

Passport
It was like watching an adopted son getting drowned, and luckily survived. I was crying the whole time.

In some other video he says that eventually passport stop working but whatsoever its a good sign that if you drop it for not so long, will work.
