I wonder why BlackBerry gave up on the plans of releasing an OEM Leather Pocket pouch for the Passport. They said there would be one whenever they talked at the Passport Launch. But nothing ever came out.

Closest thing would be that ridiculous over priced holster!

Let me tell you something about the leather holster. I got it in March and paid more than $160.00 (with tax and delivery). The holster isn't worth it, and in 3 weeks the magnet removed it self because the leather inside brake. I call to blackberry shop and send it back, they say I would have my money back in 5 to 7 days after they got it. They got it on may 13 (I tracked it on usps website), but the thing is that blackberry lost it and by today I haven't get my money back and I don't have either the holster or my money. I call every week and they just say "we have no updates on this case".
So, take care with that and believe me: it doesn't worth it at all.

For most of us, it's a form of nostalgia. Most legacy blackberries came with pouches...so it's something very relatable. Also, the original beauty of the phone goes undisturbed when using a pouch.

Cases are ugly
Cases are big
Cases are slippery

A pouch will protect the phone from a objects in your pockets /bag/ purse, and to some extent the phone in case of a drop.
The naked phone is usually more comfortable to handle

I see.
I do like to use the phone without case, but I am afraid that I will drop it. I rarely see iPhone or android users using pouch lol.

I waited for a pouch but couldn't find anything for a decent price so ended up using leather wallet case and a usual cheap case.
I did like the leather wallet case but did miss the naked phone grip feeling.

Anyways I've now bought this cheap pouch from Alibaba (my first purchase from the site). Took almost 10 days and costed the $12 USD http://www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/6679396966.html

It also has magnetic lock that works fine with the phone.
