The passport is **** if you compare it with the note 4.
AND THAT'S WHAT I THINK. AND I DON'T WANNA KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT.

Haa haa haa.
Thinking of buying both. First trying to get LG G3 at 350$ if I can get it.

I had a passport at launch and ended up selling it because of the high demand and profit to be made in selling it.
I later bought an iPhone 6 Plus, and I currently have a Note 4.
The Note 4 is a good phone in what it can theoretically do. For example, I speak Mongolian and it's a super rare language, but somehow, Samsung's keyboard supports it perfectly. Neither iOS nor Blackberry, nor really any other Android manufacturer put Mongolian into their keyboard. I think swiftkey has it now, but other than that, nothing. I was really happy about that.
Some other neat things... it has a removable battery, NFC Payments, you can move apps to the SD card (I really wish BB10 allowed this, even if only for Android apps), you can add wireless charging with a cover, it supports "OK Google" when the screen is off, etc. etc.... there are very few features it doesn't support.
That being said, Android is really buggy and laggy, compared to iOS or BB10, even though the hardware is good. Samsung's touchwiz makes this even worse, and adds 'nature water droplet' sounds when you choose items on the screen that might annoy you as much as they annoy me. The phone doesn't really feel stable -- I've had to factory reset and reflash the phone several times. Apps just disappear for no reason, stop pushing notifications correctly, and start behaving oddly -- at least that's my experience. Scrolling through menus (for example my list of songs has 6000+ different titles) is laggy and slow. Even though the phone has tons of RAM and a fast processor, it feels really slow at times in practical usage, and it gets frustrating.
The other thing about Android in general as compared to blackberry, is that you have a million choices and none of them work together. For example, you can use the Samsung email client, or the gmail app, if you use gmail. There are other choices too. The samsung mail app gives you a unified inbox, but it doesn't work well with Android wear (you can't respond to emails from your watch like you can if you use the gmail app.) But, if you want to see the latest email from someone when you call them, that feature only works when you use the Samsung email app. There are similar issues with music and voice assistants, for example, trying to choose between Google Now + Google Play music, or S-Voice + Stock Music app. You don't really see these problems with iPhone or BB10 because there isn't a choice, quite as much. You just use the app that comes with the phone, and expect it to work with everything, and generally, it does.
As for battery life, I'd say that they are probably comparable, but the Note 4 gives you a lot more flexibility in terms of power management (swappable battery, wireless charging). I never really had great luck with the battery life on my Passport, but others claim really good battery life. The Note 4 uses about 3-5 percent if left on standby overnight.
If you have the time and patience to tweak the hell out of the Note 4, it might be a good choice for you, but I personally feel much less frustrated when everything is streamlined like on an iPhone or on BB10. On the other hand, I really appreciate all the things Android, when rooted especially, allows someone to do, and I also really appreciate the fact that the Note has every feature under the sun supported.
Thanks

How do apps display on Passport? Square display havre any issues?
If you are considering multi-tasking who is the real winner here?

It's highly possible that the capacitive touch keyboard could be an issue for you. Small tremors could activate the cursor or other functions when you least expect it. I am just guessing, with no experience here.
The classic may be a better fit because it isn't capacitive.
Hope you are able to pick something that works for you.
I think most carriers offer a 1 month try out of a new device.

Passport!
Typing with excellent touch board z10
You go girl , I think an update will fix your camera issues
Great post you rock, camera issues will be handled by an update
As a note 3, z10 and passport owner I'll tell you this.
Get passport or z30. Android is not worth it, I feel the mistake every day thinking of how much productivity I lost over the past 13 mths with this note instead of z30.
I have both, and like my Passport more than my Note4 or even my Ip6+. :)
One of them who hate TW on samsung tho, makes even top sepc feels slow.
And had big problems with 4g(lte) signal on my note4, even wifi was weak.
What i like on my BB:s, seems they have very solid signals and Call quility compare to other devices i have.
But Note 4 is a great phone in general tho, with new alu. frame it feels nice and if you get use to s-pen it is quite handy. :)
Funny story at a new years eve party last night, a friend who carried a BlackBerry 3-4 years ago wanted to Google something on my phone to settle a friendly bet. He really struggled until I told him to think of it as a tiny laptop that you wake up by swiping or pressing the power button. He quickly got the hang of it.
So my 2 cents is if you want a tiny tablet replacement, the Note 4 might be your best option. If you'd rather have a tiny laptop, the Passport is the best choice.
I can touch type on my Passport which is impossible to do on a touch screen device.
For whatever reason, I seem to complete tasks much faster than my iPhone and Droid using friends. I'm not sure how much of this is the device and how much is my proficiency using it.
Passport's strengths (over the Note) are email, text and social notifications in one place, true multi-tasking, insanely good voice and speaker phone quality and Web browsing, document reading, spread sheets that are easy on the eyes and easy to edit without turning the device sideways. If this is at least 80% of your device use, you might be a BlackBerry guy.
Playing games and watching movies can be done on a Passport but it is acceptable rather than exceptional.
And of course, there is nothing else like the Passport. There is no mistaking it for an iPhone or Samsung.

Awindsr, thanks for suggesting classic. I will definitely see if I can do a tryout with Telus. Th passport seems like a great device.

Je crois que vous avez bien raison!
Well, I'm just sitting in front of my Smart TV, playing a video via Miracast from my Passport. I can also play music the same way. How could I do this with an IPhone 6+?

I can attest that this is actually true.
Posted via CB10 on the awesome Passport
The defining feature, as another poster mentioned is indeed the screen and keyboard.
Non media related content on the passport trumps that on any 16:9 phablet, which makes the hassle of carrying around such a large device pointless. Reading and creating documents is so far beyond any of these devices it's not funny.
But I've always felt that anyone who's asking about whether they should get the Passport or the Note 4 should just get the Note 4.

I can't even play youtube in background without annoying pen window.
That's all I say on note multi task.
See itsmejc video of z30 vs iphone 5 multi-task.
Especially with the additional speed of 10.3.1 there is no more competition. Bb10 is Bb #1
Edit Also what is point of playing song when even with viper4android it is 1/10 vs passport speakers? And you get cover speaker when typing so you can either have crappy or muffled sound.
I wish I could go back and just get z30 last time I'll say: note is waste of time for any serious person.
Bb10 is better in every way.
I agree with language support though, samsung ketboard even has ਪੰਜਾਬੀ
Rather would do something for my country, with a phone thqt gets work done; than just type it slowly on lagwiz.
Edit 2 - 100 to 20 battery in 4.5hrs brand new battery using just skype.
Otoh taken off charge m9nday 445pm 98 to 18 fri 1245am
End of thread.
I believe one can.
Passport is a multitasking God!
