i would worry about direct sunlight that will loose the screen , that's how you replace it applying heat to it ,the bigger the screen the more affected by the sunlight will be
I need help on instruction crazy glue

This is sad. You shouldn't have to even do that. These phones are upwards of $599.

Exactly! Blackberry should be legally compelled to make a recall of these flawed passports.

As much as I've tried my best to be a BB booster there are just too many things that BB is falling short on right now.
-Inferior product builds (hardware)
-Inferior product builds (firmware)
-Poor customer service
-Poor distribution contractors
IMO the only two BB devices worth considering are the Z30 and the Bold 99XX and they are becoming obsolete in the market they occupy.
Sorry, but Superglue or rubber bands, or tape should not even be be considered an option for a customer that has a warranty-able product.
Seriously BlackBerry, get your **** together!
edit: rubber bands was my embellishment, but hail back to the CB member that used tape to fix the volume rocker on a new Z30!
Then you guys just leave and peace. It's a Passport forum, and I think every owners got its issues just like iPhone's owners got theirs. Why are you complaining about things that you already solved yourself by changing to your new phone?
I don't get it.

It's just the frustration from true BB fans who see the potential for BB to succeed but unfortunately they aren't in a financial position to act quickly. The previous guy is right.. We shouldn't be using paper clips on the back of the Q10 to prevent restarts or use tape to ensure the device functions proper. It's unfortunate that the dev guys work harder and faster to release new software updates to BB users than BB itself.

Why did this discussion turn into apple vs. blackberry? If you're a die hard loyal BlackBerry fan that hasn't had issues with all the BB10 devices you have, that's fantastic. Pretending like there aren't issues with every model they've put out is burying your head in the sand though. You aren't doing BB or these forums any justice by using anecdotal evidence to suggest there are no problems with BB hardware and that because you've experienced "0 issues with all your devices" which therefore means that Apple makes crappy products makes everyone on these forums look dumb. I know I certainly feel dumber after reading it.
The truth is the truth, and the truth is that these forums have a whole lot of posts with people having hardware defects, in large numbers on BB10 devices. I know I've dealt with heat issues on the z10 and determined that the whole line is faulty because of bad thermal paste application. My z30 is also prone to having the power button get stuck and go into boot loops. I would really like to purchase a Classic but there have been so many people saying the double typing issue STILL exists that I can't bring myself to buy it. Admitting these things doesn't mean BB is a terrible company or that someone doesn't like BlackBerry. Support for fixing these issues is near the point of worthlessness. What's the point of replacing a z10 with heat issues when the 5 replacements you get all experience it. It's really disappointing that me disassembling the phone and applying thermal myself resulted in a better solution than BlackBerry could offer. Coming to terms with this doesn't mean I must secretly hate BlackBerry. They need to be aware that their user base, what slim one they have left is not only doing this, but willing to do this to stay with the platform.
I know a people have been having this issue but also some like myself havent had a screen issue what so ever. Since its within the warranty period I'd get another RMA and request another warranty coverage since the screen is defective again.
Good luck.

I don't get this part. Who are you referring to?

Haven't had any issues with my Passport and it is Solid! Love it except when I drop it on my foot. Outch!!!

Again, the real issue here is the acceptance and acknowledgment of BlackBerry that those factory defects issues are real and that they are doing their best to correct them.
As customer, I do understand that no matter how good or excellent your quality control is, somewhere in line, a defect will escape not because it hasn't been tested as per standard but maybe because one of the parts that has been installed has inherited defect that can only be detected in actual usage or maybe after certain number of usage hours.
BlackBerry, as one of the best manufacturers in mobile communication devices, should somehow, by this time, has already established a system to detect devices having faulty design or manufacturing defects. And the only thing to correct this is to change / amend the original design and recall affected units (or accept units having those defects) and change the part(s) that having inherited defect. They are already doing this 'correction' (or sometime referred to as 'improvements') in OS since it is easier to correct / fix 'bugs' and 'glicthes' by releasing an update OS. Hardware, however is different in approach and it is more costly. But this is part of Business 101.
I also understand that BlackBerry is still in recovery period but if they still want to stay in business, they have to somehow improve their quality management system and their 'after sales service' support services.

Dave I was referring to the side loading of new software updates.. If you have been with BB for awhile sure you have heard of them.. Sachesi update is an example.
Posted via the CrackBerry App for Android
Hmm yes I know what that is... but all the software updates we get are from BlackBerry whether you download off the carrier or side load with sachesi. It's still a BlackBerry developer working hard to release them. Whatever happens after that is completely in the hands of the carriers. Unless you have a shopbb phone you'll get the updates directly from them as they come.

Of course we eventually get them from BB.. My frustration is there isn't a sense of urgency. I give credit to the dev guys cause I appreciated them releasing the software when I was running my q10 back in the day. I know the carriers will delay the release, but it's frustrating that it takes so long..Chen is doing a great job for what he took over. The fact he got BB back in Tmobile and ATT is a great sign of things to come in the future

I don't get it. I work for a big operator in Europe and we sold enough BlackBerry Passport to know if the product is not good, but we never had any complaines about a screen that is lose or get seperated from the bodycase. I also and two other people in the office has the Passport too for 6 months allready, I walk with it in my jeans ,I bike with it sometimes and also use it in the gym with my JBL wireless headset.
Apple has a better service in some cases, but sometimes you must also wait a long time, around 5-6 weeks to get your phone back, after 8 weeks we send people a complete new iphone. Blackberry repairs are always 2-3 weeks and believe they get repaired in the UK.
I'm curious if you work in a hot climate like a factory or kitchen or whatever that made the clue weak or is it pressure ? What is your work and how do you wear your mobile with you? We have compaines about light bending of iphones or complaines about the OS or Wifi Plus/4G issues.
This is just a one off case . I am also having a passport ever since it was launched in Dubai . Dont panic . I do hope BBRY will sort out your problems .
I have had at least 6 original passports and one AT&T model and have never had a screen lifting issue myself, but I have known a few folks who had had nightmares with Blackberry customer service.
This has to be fixed and should be a top priority up there in Waterloo. They also need to change their warranty policy and make it transferable like everyone else does.
I have bought used Nokia, Apple, Samsung and HTC devices used and as long as the device is within the warranty period and is not stolen, they will repair it without asking for the original receipt.
Passing the warranty off onto the carrier or reseller is BS and should be changed, period. You have to be better or at least on par with what the competition is doing. Just my two cents.
You should really send that message into BlackBerry HQ in Waterloo.

If you bought it from Amazon, why you don't send it back to Amazon. I have excellent experience with their service. (I am from Germany)

As a Mac user since the last millennium (when it was more cult than cool to own Apple products), I assure you this was not always the case. I once had my old eMac (remember those?) stop turning on after a power surge. It was brutal to find a number to contact, I was on hold for 45 minutes, the rep wouldn't help me or offer suggestions and was kind of snippy. It was only after I complained bitterly after digging up someone high up's email that it was addressed.
Apple has what I consider world class customer service now, but I assure you - it came a long way from somewhere not so "world class". :-)
Back on topic, if they can improve, maybe Blackberry can too.
I've wanted a Passport since launch. Even at one time had a coupon to use on top of a sale to get a very nice discount. However, quality has kept me from buying one to this day still. I'm not confident the device will be trouble free for a minimum of 2 years like the Z30. I've been waiting on a new batch but haven't seen enough evidence that initial issues have been corrected be it design or manufacturing.
FWIW, The Z30 went through a revision change shortly after its launch as I received a slightly revised STA-5 model from Rogers as a replacement to my original STA-5 as the back door wouldn't stay fully snapped shut. This occurred in December 2013.
