So, looking at the pics, it's not clear if the passport will have the micro HDMI port. I have used it quite a bit on my PlayBook, then my Z10 and now my Z30. It's not essential but would be a selling point for me.

    Anyone know?

It will have the option for video output, but not through hdmi mini.

I don't remember the name, but it's rumoured to have video and sound output via the USB port.

I think the rumour was for something called MHL, but I do not know exactly what that means. I also hope at least HDMI is still supported, I can hardly afford new BlackBerry devices, let alone stay up-to-date with all the new monitor standards.

    BlackBerry 10 signed.

Mirror Cast? Just need a dongle for the TV if it isn't ready.

It might be able to support USB monitors. You can buy adaptors online for like 25 bucks. It's basically vga to USB or hdmi to USB. It makes sense because barely anyone has micro hdmi adaptors lying around (except me, because I bought 6 of them in bulk for all my devices lol).

Micro USB adaptors are much more common and produce the same result. And they can save some space onside the device by eliminating a port.

Better question would be.... IS IT USB 3.0?!!!

Yeah, that's an adapter. MHL is a uniform version with the USB and HDMI in one cable.

Yes, but Slimport doesn't (it's optional).

Wonder if that's only to enable the device to be charged while in use.

Why didn't they just go wireless? The phone can charge sitting in front of you. Seems silly to plug all that crap in these days.

It probably will support Miracast and DLNA like other BB10 devices so you do have wireless options

Of course it's wireless as well. They have to add a wired in option for those who don't have the other stuff for wireless. Why would you think it wouldn't be same as what we all have now anyway with miracast or dlna?

    Unless you actually don't use a bb10

Just going by what I saw here. I don't get the hype over it either if we already have that.

No, no adapter needed. One cable. USB 2.0 + HDMI in one port.
