I've seen lots of stories about the Passport, but so far haven't noticed mention of the screen dimensions affecting app availability... how will android apps for example display on this device? Using a small slice of the screen? Unlikely app developers are going to produce special versions. So big screen may be nice for web and book reading, but this it seems to me could be a huge liability if apps don't work on it.... comments?

The dev side of BlackBerry has addressed this.

As long as Android devs use the best Android coding practices, there won't be any issues

Should work just like on the Q10 and Q5... just bigger.

I hope not! App compatibility is somehow poor on the Q10. Android apps work natively on a 4:3 format, I hope we'll be able to chose that from the android runtime options!!!

I too hope the apps don't work like on the q10 - the fact I can't get an official viber app is bad :/

Actually, 4:3 is the typical square format like the Q10 and Passport will have. 16:9 is the letter box format most smart phones now use.

Neither the Q10 nor the Passport have a 4:3 aspect ratio. Both the Q10 and Passport have a straight 1:1 aspect ratio.

App compatability is pretty bad on the Q10. This is the only thing that worries me about the Passport. As far as BlackBerry devs taking care of this issue...I'll believe it when I see it
